While we're at it, I tried a new one. There's a new restaurant downtown called Lark that has gotten a lot of buzz, and I went for lunch. In honor of this thread, I tried the burger.
Disappointing.
First of all, there's a difference between juicy and slimy - this thing was dripping to the point that the bun was soggy after a couple of bites. They also put nasty (gorgonzola) cheese on it. That's my mistake - after waiting for ages for service, I forgot, and when asked if I wanted cheese, I said yes, forgetting that they planned to put cheese that tastes like the smell of an old sweat sock. It completely ambushed the flavor of the beef, but then again, the bun had gotten so soggy that I ended up finishing it with a fork, anyway. That kind of damaged the whole burger experience.
But at least they tempered my disappointment in the burger by serving fries that were cold and too salty to taste.
