smudubs wrote:Guys serious talks do not mean we are in. I know most of you here recognize that. It's a courtship. Like dating. You meet a cute girl and you talk to her to gauge her interest. If she reciprocates you have more conversations. But if a hotter chick pops onto the scene before you make a commitment, you dump her for the hotter chick. If this report s true, we could still be dumped for a hotter school.

Agreed....point is WE ARE a hot chick with more upside than most.

Guarantee you $$$ will not be a stumbling block to making this happen.

It would be great if Turner could say "We have $100M set aside for athletic upgrades if you accept us"....it would be money very well spent from SMU's standpoint.

It's of couse on killerfrogs. If this kid wanted attention, he got it. But he better be able to at least explain how he came up with this, including SOME sort of sources, because if he wants a career in Sports Journalism he better not ruin his name before he even gets out of school.

I can see where someone may have asked him to 'keep it vague' until the SEC is closer to making an official ruling or perhaps he feels the need to confer with SMU before he goes much further. After all, he does represent the school to some degree.

My gut says these sources aren't so reliable.

Agree. I just don't think this can happen

But that's what sports journalists do now. Report first, verify later, credit sources even later, if ever.
