Claiborne likely out for the year with a torn ACL. Looks like Sterling will get plenty of PT this season.

Feel bad for Claiborne but the reality is Moore plays harder. Claiborne just doesn't seem to get it. Ironically having Moore playing will make the cowboys better.

There was only one poster back in the day that I recall who use to say or imply that Beasley was basically worthless. As best as I can remember, every poster, on PF.com has since the day Beasley graduated been pulling for him to succeed in the pros. His latest tweets are like a slap in the face to those of us who have been pulling for him. He needs to back off and think this thing through a bit more. I know he is grateful to JJ for his help in getting into the pros, and that is good, but he has to understand that JJ has some negatives to carry around too. One of them is his leaving SMU high and dry with an empty cupboard. There is no way around that fact. Beas can be sad that his coach is gone, but he doesn't have to hate SMU because of it. I personally have enjoyed seeing Beas show his abilities and achieve success. I am very disappointed that he has decided to respond to the situation in the manner he has.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Hopefully Cole will see his mistake and apologize.

And hopefully Morestead will put him in the cheap seats somehow.

I don't see him apologizing. I know I am not the most persuasive person questioning him on twitter, but following up some of his comments, his response to PFers was a very smarmy disdain toward SMU fans who are offended ...

loved his non specific statements, like "pony fans slandered me way before I did that, trust me, LOL"

So I guess he is saying he is justified in trashing SMU because he remembers some fan trashing him a while back? I don't think so, I just think it is a lie to attempt to cover his arse, and he knows nobody will back check him.

Sorry, Cole but I don't trust you, and I ain't "LOL" like a little girl.

On a positive note Im very happy to see Richard Crawford clearing the air on his stance. There's a big difference between constructive criticism and bashing. I don't feel like Richard had any intent to bash the university. Seems like a great guy, really hope he gets back out there on the field.

Crawford and Tank aren't throwing the program and the school under the bus. They are directing most of their frustration at the players on the field and the coaches (where it rightly should be). Beasley is a totally different story.

I hate to see ex-players bashing the school and I hate seeing fans bash ex-players. We are all on the same team. Taylor Reed and Cole Beasley gave it there all at SMU and those teams (the June era bowl game seasons) had more support than any SMU team in the last 25 years. Everyone needs to take a chill pill and realize this season is a throw away and we will be good again.

How dare you show patience and understanding?! I agree 100%. I can also understand Cole's frustrations. I wish he had not lumped the whole fandom in though. It was pretty disheartening as a fan to see the stadium empty (at least after halftime) after a crowded boulevard during those days. I can only imagine how the players felt. Anyhow, we should relax and understand now is the height of everyone's frustration. Lets just get a good coach and start winning again.

Seems like the DMN has him pigeonholed as the modern day retweeter.
