No penalty. One guy called for a fair catch and the other one caught it on the 16 so that is where it was placed.

As well but I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve been in Ford where the refs weren’t trying to screw us.

A great win for the Mustangs .
No way Brown has the same results in OT. He needs more work. Competition is good

Ultimately though, they DID get it right...and so did SMU.

Actually giddy tonight...hope Stallion is too

Yes agreed. It was a great game and hopefully we build on it and do well in our conference play.

I am curious though, say it was illegal procedure, how can you call a foul after the play is complete via review? Is that even possible?

Interesting the huge number of tackles notched by SMU (91)-and surprisingly high numbers by most of the kids who couldn't stop Navy last year.

Clemons 15
Jordan Williams 15
Ellijah Mcqueen 11
Kyran Mitchell 8

I do think SMU caught a break when Malcolm Perry went out with a concussion but he wasn't particularly effective either when he was in there. I think Clemmons made the Defensive play of the game late when Navy had a guy running in the open field with hardly anyone defending for SMU. Clemmons took a great angle on a 12 yard sprint and took him down. Remember all the bad angles our Safeties took in that game last year on Perry. That might have been Clemmons

Great question, 11. There is a fella in Navasota that calls FCS games. I'll ask him this week...

Agreed on Brown. Kid doesn't need THAT MUCH pressure in his 1st year. Good call by Sonny to go with Hicks, but then again, hindsight is 20-20

Can you imagine if it had been pick 6 Hicks in OT? Fortunately he was money today and now the question is who starts going forward.

Brown put us in position to win. He was 4 for 4 to start the game and at another part of the game was 8 for 8. Let Brown gain more experience against HBU.

Way to go Mustangs! I only saw the last few minutes of the game. Honestly, my heart sank when we lined up for the 2 points & by golly, we made it. Whew. Like that SD showed confidence in our offense to be able to make it. Then just knew the refs would take it away. What a good day to be a Mustang!

he also had only 1 TD scoring drive unless you want to count the 4 play 2 yard drive. Sonny made the right call. Brown is not ready to read defenses downfield yet so that limits the playbook and defenses know he is limited
