Goff's was the SMU football of burger joints. Once better than average, on a multi-decade decline, now in flames.

Overall, not that good. No significant loss in the burger world. Was a fine building, though.

Chelsea Corner is Back! McKinney Avenue at Monticello. Went there last night and the burger was the best that I have had in a long long time. The French fries where damn good too.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

What do y'all think of Shake Shack? I had one on 8th or 9th Ave in NYC and thought it was pretty tasty but you needed a double. A bit bigger and better than In & Out but more expensive.

Any speculation on the future of the slab at the old Goff's site? Saw a real estate sign there recently. (hopefully, not another Goff's - but a really good burger place would be nice.)

Almost anything would be an upgrade over Goff's.
I like the Shake Shack. It's a good "fast food" burger. Also their shakes are delicious.

Sounds good. As soon as Randy Cody finishes "The Wall", he can get started on a Shake Shack.

Apparently the only new businesses allowed in the area are mattress stores and banks. I'm going with mattress store.
Went to Goodfriends again the other night. Man that place never gets old. Great burgers and great beer selection. I may have to get myself back out there tonight.

I miss Goodfriend - need to make another visit.
I went to Maple and Motor the other day. Had been way too long.
It's no Goodfriend, but it's pretty good.

I did not expect it but I was shocked how good my burger was Peggy Sue's BBQ. I went there after a bball game at Moody and did not have a taste for BBQ so I went for the basic cheese burger. Chargrilled and juicy. A solid burger.

Started eating there when it was Peggy's Beef Bar. Never had a burger there but glad to hear it is good. Last two times I ate at PS's it was terrible. The ribs were rare/tough and the brisket tasteless. Haven't gone back in 6 months. I will go back and try a burger on your recommendation. Thanks.
