1) Ted Valentine proved once again he is the worst ref in all of basketball. He honestly should be banned from the sport.
2) Our security staff at Moody is out of control. When Rick Hart replies to emails personally apologizing for the security staff you know you have issues.
3) People may criticize LB for pulling players too soon as soon as they get close to foul trouble, but its a pretty smart decision when you consider the fact that god forbid we end up in a game that goes into overtime, we will need every player available. Can't afford to risk a player fouling out during regulation with the situation we are in...
What email regarding security? I'm a season ticket holder and never received one. Just curious what happened.
It says "replies to emails" so unless you sent him one, I doubt you received one.

Announcers said hurling profanities at ref and Larry wanted him gone
Ref tossed him not LB but Larry did yell at students a bit and apologized to the ref. some rediculous decision by security tonight. A Houston fan slapped a drunk and admittedly obnoxious smu fan and the smu fan got tossed.
I knew something was up w/the students b/c the uh coach was talking to the ref that was up his ... and pointing/looking towards the Mob, before the kid was booted out. I figured someone was getting on his nerves.

It was pretty obvious last night and will only get worse. Houston was quick and played with a lot of intensity and had one more body than we did contributing significant minutes. Tired legs appear to be affecting some guys' shooting and will eventually get us in serious foul trouble. Hope we can get past Temple because we would then have a full week before Memphis.

Interesting that we've already played seven conference games and some schools have only played four.

He laid on the floor so long I almost yelled "Maybe we should amputate" but then I thought better of it, and clapped when he finally got up and hobbled to the bench.
In my younger days, I might have done it.

Today's Washington Post round-up of college games: SMU-Houston, 2nd story. Behind only Okie St and Kansas.

I think he was really in pain. Makes sense if he was inadvertently hit in the nuts. The crowd booing after he walked normally to the bench was disappointing but made sense. Faking happens a lot in high octane football games. I'd have shaken my head if he'd come back in right away after all that writhing but he didn't return. We could've used his defense down thr stretch. Does anyone have video of the ball dive? Anyway, no biggee and great game as usual. Beat Temple!

Yea tired legs are happening and also a hangover from the food poisoning. you can see it is a drop in our long range shooting percentage. In the first half we were 1 for 6 from three with all 6 being wide open looks. You won't make every 3 but you should make 50% of wide open given the talent level of our shooters. but the last several games we have been below 35%. I'm not worried about home games because the crowd can lift the kids up. if we play a road game against a decent team that is having a decent night and we can't bring the energy we can/will lose. If we can get by temple we will have a full week before the next game which would be perfect to rest, rejuvenate, and actually have productive practices (due to some more bodies and health of the team).

Video doesn't clearly show anything other than him in pain. Poor response by our fans.

The booing was because Nic got called as they both dive for the ball. Then after writhing around for a few minutes he ran back to the huddle and we thought he was going back in the game immediately like in euro soccer.

THIS is the correct reason for the fans booing.

I think everyone has forgotten that the fans clapped for him when he FINALLY got up after 10 minutes of writhing and then booed when he tried to join the huddle.

I don't get why it was a foul. Nic didn't hit the guy there, he landed on himself. I think he was in a good amount of pain from it for sure but wtf did Nic do to deserve that call?

I know this is anti-LB principles but I wouldn't have them go through a full practice at all in the week of rest. Just walk throughs, treatment, and rest. We need to keep these guys as fresh as possible.
