It's official. Jimbo took the A&M job. Really didn't think it was going to happen, but then again what do I know.
How is this going to effect us? Does Ut become a real possibility for HCCM? Does Arkansas?

Gene Chizik (2010) was 47 and Les Miles (2007) was 54!
Great five year hire but ten years is too long. Wonder if all ten years are guaranteed. So it's $7M per year and not the previously reported $7.5M?

I expect that hire to backfire only because it’s the Aggies

To dominate first you got to win something--anything--which aggies haven't since the 20th Century

Nothing changes. TCU is still the premiere college football program in Texas.

The only things the ags dominate is awful ROI status in conjunction with absurdly high expenditures. The greatest proof positive that there are some things money can’t buy.

They are Numero Uno in the Country in the number of Coaching contract years eaten by their alumni with a serious, but well-earned, inferiority complex

I believe UT is paying three head coaches right now, so they may still be number two in number of coaching contract years eaten by alumni/taxpayers.
Idea - maybe the Texas legislature should make it illegal for a state university to pay more than one coach at a time. Might help take some of the wind out of these crazy salaries. They are all running sports franchises that have basically nothing to do with the school (fake students getting fake degrees) - while being underwritten and supported by the taxpayers. Yes I know some athletic departments make money - that doesn't mean they should be allowed to waste.

Not sure if it was posted elsewhere but just saw that Bielema's buyout will be just shy of 12 million after all as opposed to the 5

That is a surprise. Supposedly it began at 15 and reduced monthly to where it was down to about 5.9. But not even the lawyers reading it were certain as to what it said.

I don’t know about that. The Rocky Top guys are going to be paying Butch Jones, Currie, and probably Schiano
