the sniping between the SEC and B12 really has only a couple winners, and that's us and Tulane, by all means lets encourage them to encroach on each other and make the dotted line between the SEC and B12 as crooked as possible

This sure has been entertaining. But face it, this is all pure hopium we're smoking. It makes more sense that we are putting out these rumors to scare the Big XI-II-I+I into courting us. Scare the Big XII-II-I+I (primarily Texas) into thinking their lock on the states recruits could be in jeopardy. And that A$M is even more clever to screw UT than previously thought.

And it might also get the Big X +II off its behind to expand into a rich recruiting and media market.

At dinner with horns before I saw this thread. They said they heard they took TCU because they heard the SEC was looking very closely at TCU and UT and the rest of the big 12 didn't want to give them more access to the state and DFW. So either there is a little truth, or SMU is trying to create some smoke.

send Mississipi State to the East division if Bama wants to stay West. Then Missouri can join the west. Bama fans will love those trips into Columbia Mo every year and they lock down St Louis recruiting. Ask yourself this, does the SEC get more tv money for taking Missouri or SMU as #14? I say its irrelevant, they will get the same huge dollars in either case. So then it comes down to intangibles, and its reasonable to think SMU or TCU would do more for the SEC strategically in Texas, than Missouri or WVA would do for them.

If this was to really happen, does it mean we get to lower our academic requirements so we are on the same level as the other SEC schools? With the exception of Vandy.

the other angle is this. If UT and OU don't want a championship game and refuse to expand to 12 schools, Jerryworld just lost a payday. To replace it, he wants to bring the SEC champ game to Dallas. Alternate every year between Atlanta and Dallas. The Big12 and UT can watch it on TV in their backyard if they don't want to play ball. Add SMU, complements A&M, opens up North Texas recruiting, and put the SEC Champ Game at Jerryworld in alternating years. Bam.

There is no doubt in my mind that if this SEC thing is real, Jerry will be one of the driving forces behind it. SEC title game for sure at Jerry World and he may be thinking some of our home games as well. If we couldn't do all games at Ford, I would prefer Cotton Bowl for obvious reasons (Doak built it, close to campus).

Spare me. Everybody, including people on this board, said the same thing when rumors first started to come out that June Jones was looking to leave Hawaii, and it was hm that came to us.

Sometimes you win one.
