vs. VCU in Spokane.

gross

Pretty sure that's St. Louis not Spokane. The matchups surround the city name on both sides. Otherwise, the top game in each bracket has no location. If rather not play VCU though.

VCU would not be a good matchup for us

I kind of like playing teams that press so long as Nic Moore is not in foul trouble.

Could've sworn I saw Spokane. Thanks PF32

Anytime! I had to check several times to make sure. And I've made that mistake already this year.

Both of those games were in hostile environments and pretty early in the season. Neutral floor where the crowd doesn't help build the pressure and yea I like our chances.

American Athletic Conference

Locks: Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Connecticut, SMU

Barring an upset tournament champion, the AAC won't have any bubble drama. After SMU's victory at Connecticut on Sunday, the Mustangs joined Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis and the Huskies as locks for the field of 68. The Mustangs are now 4-3 against the top 35 teams in the RPI and are ranked 22nd on kenpom.com. The only remaining intrigue is the battle for the regular season championship between Louisville and Cincinnati. The Cardinals' final four games are against Temple, Memphis, SMU and Connecticut. The Bearcats have three games left, against Connecticut, Memphis and Rutgers.

Is the tie breaker based on overall record or h2h? R
We are technically in it yet depending on ridiculous circumstances and a rutgers upset to boot.

What high pressure pressing teams have we done well with this year?

Southern Methodist [22-6 (11-4), RPI: 37, SOS: 152] The Mustangs leapt to a No. 7 seed in Joe Lunardi's Monday Bracketology update. With all due respect to the Bracketsfather, that seems a tad bit high. But that's not really the point. The point is, SMU desperately needed a quality win away from its own building, some way to prove to the committee that it possessed one of the key traits necessary for tourney inclusion in recent years. Sunday's win at UConn did as much, and the corresponding jump in the projected bracket shows just how important it was.

Not out of the conference race yet and I bet Larry is saying the same. We win out, UC loses to UConn and Memphis, UL loses to UConn and SMU. That makes it a 3 way tie I believe. Tough sledding though. UConn might be our best friend these days.

I thought the 7 seemed about right. They have a perception against them for not being ranked the entire year, people are still coming around to seeing SMU in the top 25. I think when the body of work is looked at unbiasedly, a 7 seed is pretty fair.
