There's some BS rule that James Madison hasn't been FBS for at least 2 years so they won't be ranked in the CFP or eligible for a bowl this year.

Can someone please explain to me why moving UP to FBS from FCS gives you an automatic post season ban for 2(!) years? You’re moving from ΓÇ£lesserΓÇ¥ competition so if anything you would be at a disadvantage. If it’s a money thing could you not at least be allowed to compete and not get the money? I am happy from a SMU perspective that JMU is excluded, but it’s just not sitting right with me.

I don’t know for sure but I think it is an effort to discourage schools from moving up. FBS is too bloated.

Wyoming did beat Texas Tech earlier this season but goy crushed by both Texas and Boise. Only 6-3 team in the country that has been outscored on the season by their opponents?
