Never did get the conference pride thing....I feel like it sucks even worse that a team that SMU dominated is in the Final Four as opposed to the other way around. Worst part now, no matter what 4th team makes it, I hate them ALL. Florida has owned OSU, UConn (always hated them) and SMU owned them, Michigan/UK (enough said), and Wisconsin, hate those stupid animals and their coach looks like their mascot/is an ahole.

When OSU gets denied a spot in part because of their conference rep...then it might make a little more sense.

This was big for the AAC.

Probably so, but what about the SEC? I'm so sick of hearing them chirp in football. Half of me wants scUMbags to win to lessen their chances of winning it for the conference but I hate them so much that I want UK to win. The worst. lol

exactly. we were denied, and the seeds were crazy because of a conference dis. So it is sweet to see the conference prove them wrong. That has already happened - but UConn and SMU winning out would put a big exclamation point on it!

Look on the bright side! Next weekend will be all freed up to expand your cultural horizons.

7 wins by AAC equals about 10.5 million to conference schools

Wellman & Co had little respect for the AAC. They deemphasized SMU's quality wins because they were all in conference. There are three reasons to cheer on other AAC teams; revenue, proving the committee wrong, and reputation coupons to cash in next season.

haha, I'm just waiting for the Spring Game, football season for me now. Get to watch SMU finish strong hopefully and time for some football. And AAU ball starting up for my youngest sister, definitely fun. Masters, NHL Playoffs, NFL Draft, NBA Playoffs, awesome time of the year. I just hope all 4 Final Four teams somehow lose.

This. I have no true conference love. Never cheer for the conference for the conference only outside of the tournament unless I hate the other team more. But money in the bank is a good thing.

I guess the rich conferences do not have to worry about such things.

Cincy - 1 Unit
Memphis - 2 Units
Louisville - 3 Units
UConn - 5 Units

Total: 11 Units

1 Unit = $250,000 per year for 6 years (http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2 ... worth.aspx)

11 Units = $2,750,000 x 6 years = $16,500,000 total

Louisville and Rutgers are leaving their units behind to be divided among the other 8 schools. So SMU will receive $2,750,000/8 = $343,750 this year. Not sure if ECU, Tulane, and Tulsa get to share in the wealth generated from this year when they come into the conference next year or not, but if not, then SMU's total share is $343,750*6 = $2,062,500.

And that's just from this year's tourney. Does anyone know if we have any rights to units from previous years?
