Yeah. We gave them an earful. Markus' family is rather loud.
About 30 of us behind the bench kicked it up when we could.

Thank you!

I didn't see any of the game, just kept following the score on my phone and listening to Rich when I could, but from what I could tell.....that's a game that we lose last year. To see the run Temple was on right before half, I was thinking it would be another loss, but well done to the team for crawling back in it and grabbing it. Pony Up!

Looks like we got a bump with the UCF win over Tulane. A win by Wyoming tonight could help our RPI as well.

I had to watch the game on delay and that was the first place I went when I finished 3 minutes ago. Wow.

Sloppy, sloppy play and passing. Way too many TO.
But I noticed not one long bomb turnover pass. Which is a big upgrade over what we saw at OOC games.

That 32-14 run at the end was a result of Bond having foul trouble and just wearing Temple out without depth. Marcus was incredible. I think we beat Arkansas and IU if he were playing.

KF is so streaky. At home is lights out - but on the road he isn't comfortable and is off. His road shooting is one thing he needs to fix before considering turning pro.

Nic's issues with TO this game was the result of them having great guards who did a super job of staying with him. I noticed they switched a lot to keep a fresh body on him. They weren't going to get beat by Nic.

So, the strategy I see teams taking is to try and shut Nic down, make SMU pass a lot and try to force a TO. Teams see we are TO prone and they try to make pass a lot knowing we are careless with the ball.

I too really enjoyed hearing the roaring "S-M-U..S-M-U..." when Temple stepped up to the line with about 30 left. I was all doom and gloom entering the 2nd but the team stepped up big time on defense and hit the shots to grab it in the end. Loved it!

They sort of mentioned it on the broadcast, but I loved sterling's reaction when he saw Kennedy coming in for the dunk after he had made the great save under the basket. Big skip in place and a grin, just happened to be right in the foreground between the camera and Kennedy.

Nic has to stop throwing up those weak lob passes around the hoop. I'd guess they accounted for a half dozen TO's tonight. Our interior passing was really poor tonight.

A couple of observations:
1) Keith. He didn't shoot well and was lax on defense at times. But offensively, we need players to play aggressive and make things happen, and when we were struggling in during the game, he and Manual were the guys who tried to drive the ball and make things happen. A step in the right direction.

2) During the game, someone on here made a comment that LB needs to not let the team figure things out. Well, I think they ended up figuring things out, and that is how you get leaders. Which this team desperately needs. It was painful to watch, but I think this is a game you can really grow from.

3) I think we run so much motion on offense and work so hard defensively, that at the end of the game, jump shooting teams are just exhausted and don't have the strength in their legs to knock down an open shot. In this game, temple hit a ton of contested, difficult threes in the first half. In the second, they didn't have the legs to hit open threes. Our hard work and legit depth on the offensive and defensive end really contributes to that.

I'll say this hopefully for the last time. NIC MOORE played 88 varsity basketball games for Warsaw High School. The position he played was POINT GUARD. Coach Jankovich recruited him to play point guard at Illinois State. So this crap about him not being a true point guard is bs.
