Definitely. Qb with a good arm makes this a game. Same thing with baylor..defense played well long enough to win if they had some help from the offense. Everything looks bigger, faster, stronger. Just don't have the accuracy. I like hicks. I think he's a fighter and maybe he will improve his accuracy over the years to become good enough to compete for the job..but he is not the guy right now.[/quote]

I said basically the same thing on another thread that I'm going to say here. Don't abandon ship. You're closer than you think. Depth is the big problem now. Give it 2 more years and you'll reap the seeds being sown now.

I believe we are perpetually 1.5 recruiting classes away.

The bottom line is that all of this staff's recruits, who are getting on the field, are playing well . . . besides it's QB and o lineman (Wilds). They aren't going to hit a homerun on every recruit and it's very hard to expect ANY freshmen QBs and OLs to be superstars. Matt going down really sucks and too bad we don't have a transfer THIS year like we will have next year.

The one thing folks are missing is that our defense will wear out AS THE SEASON goes on. We talk a lot about keeping them on the field so much during the game and they wear out during the game, but its a compounding affect. Injuries, etc, pile up. We need to run the ball and be conservative in our passing game (take our shots every once and a while but we need to do all we can to protect our defense, as crazy as that sounds . . . they can keep us in 3-4 more games this year if our offense just plays DECENTLY). Otherwise, our defense will just get worn the eff out here in about 4-5 more games and you'll see more Memphis type scores and it won't really be all on the defense.

Matt Davis went 2-10 last year, including 0 0ffense vs Navy, Memphis and a few other games. I would say he sucks according to metrics.

Hicks will end the season as a more accurate passer than Davis especially more accurate than in 5 out of Davis' last 7 games when he threw for 48% or far less

Announcers said Milines was ejected from the game and for the first half against Temple. I thought first half of the next game was only for a second half ejection. Should he not be eligible for the whole game? Anyone know for sure?
