Well, 29 year olds have better decision making ability.

Their defense did get the final stop to secure the victory.

Stallion or anyone, I don't follow recruiting very closely and too lazy to look it up during work...

Where did Houston get these playmakers (RB's and WR's)? 3* ? Juco's?

Beall and Sims were high school. Haynes was a JUCO I think. I remember posting he was a stud when he signed. Both Beall and Sims were Freshman of the Year in succesive years. Sims was academically ineligible as a Sophomore last year. I really can't believe though that Sumlin left UH that vulnerable defensively when they've sucked for 3 years but he's known that Keenum had the talent to lead them to a BCS bid. Maybe they just are poorly Coached defensively but they look small and weak upfront. seems like he could have addressed their defensive deficiencied by now. Still not sure anybody on their schedule can outscore them-but the defense definitely sucks. What happens though when the ball bounces wrong or they fumble or throw a pick. They always Coog it sooner or later. But quite frankly their Receivers were horrible last nite in the first half especially.

I do remember Houston was expected to be mid to lower in the conference this year until it was announced Keenan was coming back. Classic example of a team that is entirely one dementional - all on O. I think we have the more complete team and will matchup well with them.

Hurry up offense gives our D major problems the last couple yrs.

Thanks Stallion. Yes - could have been a blowout if not for dropped passes.

this game showed me two things first is that Houston has no def.If utep can run for 275 on them imagine what line is going to do to them and 2nd once keeneum leaves they are going to drop alot

He's been a great decision maker for years now.

More complete team definitely but a game between 2 teams with pass-heavy offenses will come down to QB play and they have the better one by far.

he also has and has had numerous Home Run hitters at most receiver positions and 3 deep at RB-that's how you throw for 500 yards per game and get 700 total yards. Right now does SMU have the Home Run Hitter? Thompson looked great last week-so hopefully he's one. Darius likes to run out of bounds downfield. Beasley is a possession receiver except when he plays teams in the Bottom 10% of pass defenses. Jones apparently doesn't like his little receivers fighting for yardage downfield. Home run hitter? Which one of our guys can make a 2 yard play and turn it into an 80 yard TD run or catch
