Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower
Since I posted it to another thread, might as well update this one:

Though TT is closing fast, still favors SMU over all other schools.

What is your basis for that statement?
I'd imagine he meant that UT and OU wouldn't let him play both. Doubt he would even make their hoops squads. If its a must, they probably would have no problem telling him to get lost.
Kind of like (imaginary post) "If B-Hop wants his brother to get a scholarship as well, we would be much more likely to accomodate than OU or UT."

Okay. Except that didn't Johnnie Freeman want to play hoops a couple years back and didn't Bennett say "not no but hell no"? Unless I'm just imagining that happened it sounds like SMU's policy the same as UT and OU in this regard.

I don't know. I imagine its a sliding scale based on their talent. I thought we going to allow the Thornton kid or Byron Eaton to play both, but I could be mistaken. I do know he would have to be on a football scholarship, so Bennett would have more say so than Tubbs.
If we don't allow it for top recruits, we're crazy. Better programs than ours allow it.
Freeman barely played for Bennett. Maybe because he never played hoops previously and he and Bennett had no prior agreement, Bennett told him Hell no.
