My grandson goes to Vista Ridge. It a new high school and has no seniors on the varsity. About a third of its starters are sophomores.
I went to the game last night to see how our new commitment looked. He is huge!! He played left guard on offense and defensive tackle on the first two or three defensive series, during which time he caused and recovered a fumble. The program listed him at 285 lbs. and Hutto's left tackle at 265 lbs. So, needless to say, Hutto ran the majority of its running plays to the left; most of which went for long gains because the defensive linemen were on their backs.
I am no football expert like most of those who post on this site, but he definitley has the size and it looks to me like he has the potential to be a player. Like Charley Brown said, however, "There is no greater burden that great potential".

As far as Big men go.. IMHO Many of the big men are not the Rivals or Scout darlings.
At the Kickoff Lunch the guys I saw are BIG. A lot bigger than the past 3 to 7 years. That is ALL good to me.
I know, lets see how they protect the QB this year. OR - how they smash the QB.

Like BUS, I Like the big guys. It's good strategy to get a QB & a "Big Ugly" in the same week.
YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
Interesting. Based on what I've seen, and what I've been told by guys who have seen more practice (and know more football), Hudman, Mapps and Sanders (along with Givens) have been among the most impressive freshmen at 2-a-days.me@smu wrote:Rivals has Zac Rhodes as a 2 star 5.2 rating:
