The coach burned a year of eligibility already, so usually a kid doesn't leave til the end of the season. He must have either done something really bad (which would be surprising) or he reacted to something and didn't think through the consequences. If its the latter, hopefully he's a big enough guy to go to Bennett and thrash out his problems. Otherwise, he loses a year of playing and eligility. Even working on the scout team for the rest of the year is better than not working out at all.
So now our recruiting priorities have to be offensive line, defensive line and linebacker. Losing Nnabuife, Lee, Harris, Cleveland (and Cox) makes it a high priority.
Next year we'll bring back McCray, Carrington, Bonilla, Powell, Alexander and .... Who am I forgetting here?
Scholarships are for one year and even if Cleveland was run off the team (which I doubt) he could stay in school if he wanted as long as he didn't violate any school rules. Sounds more like Hitman left on his own accord.
I think we have backups who are decent, if not great, at both kicking spots (Harris from Austin at PK, and I forget who at P). But Stallion's right, this has to be addressed, too. Sure wish we had a bigger class coming up.
