Over the last 10 years, should I list Nevada, Freson State, and Boise State. Maybe I should throw in BYU and Oklahoma State. My point is that in the last 10 years we have developed no rivalries. All we have are the old "rivals" and we don't play most of those anymore.

North Texas is the little kid in the neighborhood that nobody wants to play with. He is annoying and just not fun to be around all the time. They'd give anything to be included regularly with neighbors SMU and TCU. See Texas Tech with ut and aTm.

But I think a lot of the hate stems from how ridiculous they are. That whole Matt Simon parking lot diatribe pointed out how comical and ridiculous thier inferiority complex really is.

Having a rivalry with UNT is like having a rivalry with your gardner. It just isn't going to happen. Does Duke have a rivalry with UNCC? Does Vanderbilt have a rivalry with Middle Tennessee State? Does Tulane have a rivalry with Louisana -Monroe? Does Georgetown have a rivalry with UDC? Don't think so.

Jiminy East, you're gonna take some crap if we lose to the gardner, a distinct possibility.

in fact Rice and UH have developed a rivalry under almost exact circumstances. NTSU will eventually too be an SMU rivalry. It it may start this year with a packed house in Denton.

If we lose to the gardner, it doesn't make them a rival, it just gives the gardner reason to go and get drunk that night and when he wakes up, he's still a gardner.

Now your making sense. I flew by that NTSU website now that I know there is one just to see what all the hubbub was about, and some dude was whining about how the folks at SMU don't respect us and the only way to win respect was to kick their collective @sses. I couldn't respond there obviously, but I wanted to tell him we still wouldn't respect them if they did.

Well, just to prove their point:
NTSU sucks and is full of stupids that don't know how to pop a collar. [/stereotype]

megagreen (from gmg forums) wrote:This brings me to my point. SMU probably views us more as the nuisance while TCU is the rival. We should set our goals much higher because I truly believe that our ceiling is much higher than SMU can even dream about.

So he thinks UNT has more potential than SMU. Whatever, that matter is irrelevant, but using his own analogy, we are better than UNT at this football thing.
megagreen wrote:I realize that the rivalry is more one sided right now in most sports than in the past, but I've always had the feeling that Aggies hate Longhorns more than Longhorns hate Aggies. From where I sit as an unbiased Mean Green loyalist, Longhorns see Aggies as more of a nuisance while Oklahoma is the real rival.

Texas has been slaughtering aTm for a few years now...

Texas vs A&M 72-34-5

I'll just be happy march on their field with a lead during halftime.

Wow weee! Just back from the mean green page, a whole bunch of hate for the ole' Ponies over there! With our record since 1989, it's like hating a puppy! What is wrong with those goomhawks?

Wow, all that money for a private education and SMU couldn't even teach you how to spell gardener correctly?? Let's spell it together, it's G-A-R-D-E-N-E-R...that's three syllables. Your parents must be very proud.

Ignore the gardener and he might steal your wife!!

I shouldn't ask this question, but where is the NTSU poster that was always on here the last two years. You know the one that claims that everything bad that has ever happen to NTSU was our fault. We are less than 60 days away from playing them and he is a no show.

Just for the record I think we will kick there little green [deleted]. In fact you can put it in 6 inch letters on the front of the Daily Campus. We can't get the DMN to do it because they are boycotting us due to McClown's ranting.
