I am not sure how we will score, but we have double our scoring each week so far. Therefore we should have 12 this week.
Cool, over the entire season that's a scoring average of
1,021. We will hang
1,536 points on Houston and an astounding
6,144 on Rice (877 touchdowns).
The season is looking up!

on one thread?...this multi, "why don't we hire Vince Lombardi or Bear Bryant!?!!" stuff is maddening, "how about John Madden??!!!?"....are you guys for real, have you lost total perspective of who we are, where we are, and what we are?? I'm all for an upgrade, if that is what it is going to take, but this never ending "bring in Coach Holtz" crap makes NO sense.....can we get real, for once??

I know that things aren't looking very good for the ponies and everyone is a little pessimistic at the moment but.....
The few people that are predicting a Mustang win think it will be a close game. Do you think that a near miss against a DIAA opponent is as bad (if not worse) than a loss against any DI opponent?
Could Phil be fired after a win (like perhaps the 3OT 8-6 thriller)?

No, it is not as bad as a bad loss to UNT. As long as we win, nobody will remember the score in a year or two. However, next year when UNT comes to Ford, they'll be waving this year's game in our face from beginning to end (same deal for our game against TCU next year).

I am trying to figure out how you would actually get that score.
Two field goals for each team and then a safety for SMU in the third OT. Course, the Mustang Band may be the only people left in the stands to see the safety after something that dull.
how would you get a safety because you start are the opp's 25 yd line...so that would be one hell of a sack..

Not to make too fine a point of it, but in that situation, you would almost certainly run the ball on 4th down.

Guess that depends if Rusty is calling the plays from the sidelines or up in the box.....or from his car......or from his couch.....or from Cici's Pizza....or....shoot me.

It would be cool if we tried to set the record for most Punts in a game.

I can't even begin to predict what this SMU team will do on Saturday. I just hope to be listening after a day of moving. I'm getting far too old for this stuff (both the uncertainty of SMU football and moving)

It will all depend on the Offense if they can get into the game and do stuff.. cause defense and the SP team will do their part.
