That and Mel Kiper's 3rd best junior safety in the nation...not an All-American mention or preseason mention.

Josh earned his way back on the team. He was never given any favors.

Just to clarify......it's Mel Kiper's 3rd best safety in the nation.....and he's a Junior.

We're no Oklahoma or Florida in terms of players, but we do have a few that stand out. I'm sure you guys do as well.

If I get 80 recruits per year-I'll take my 80 sleepers and play teams like SMU and Rice who recruit mostly sleepers anyway and I'll compete. That model has nothing to do with Division 1A Football Reality.

This is one of my personal favorite patented Stallion rants-"the academy advantage." I have loved it for years. It is right up there with saying the parents of players aren't real fans.

Really, it is genius.

Because we all know that these "advantages" cannot possibly be outweighed by things such as academic qualifications, interview requirements, recommendation requirements, medical exams, HEIGHT and WEIGHT restrictions, the fact that they can't be married or have children when they start. Oh, and the fact that they have to be in the freakin' armed services when they get out! Oh, and the beating of actually making it though four years at an academy.

Really, it is a wonder the academies don't finish 1,2 and 3 in the BCS every year.

I don't know if you knew this, but Adrian Peterson was this close to going to West Point, but in the end, driving a lexus and sleeping till noon in the Spring and getting paid beat out getting the crap kicked out of him and sleeping on rocks in the summer.

Line has dropped to 5.5 (o/u 39.5)

It'll probably be a PICK by the time these two titans face off...

Well now it seems like Kiper likes the Safeties from Notre Dame, Va Tech, and LSU ahead of the Arkansas State kid. At least so says his ESPN page.

Those Notre Dame safeties have certainly proven stout...

I would be concerned about ASU's defense. Compared to ours they have certainly proven it on the field. #24 in total defense is nothing to sneeze at.

Against what offenses? Not trying to be a smart-___ (well...maybe a little)... just wondering.

Oklahoma St and Army Have they played a third game?

by mustangfan01
Nope. Army just took it to A&M, and Okie Lite...while being the weakest link in the B12 south this year, isn't a powderpuff game and ASU held their own until half.

Their D will be a big test for Willis this weekend.

BTW former SMU player Kelvin Cox plays for Arkansas St I believe at CB.

Interesting enough ASU's only TD vs. OSU was an INT return early in the game. ASU had 3 picks vs. OSU. Willis will be key in this game.
