Do you not understand why would might be disappointed with a home bowl game if we finish 10-2? If not, I'm sorry I can't explain it.
Be happy you got by a few of those tuffies in the MWC to get where you are.
I never said the MWC or our schedule were tough.
One thing is true. It is all about perception and yours is way out of line. We may not be on a par with TCU yet when all is said and done, but my goodness, you sound like you think you are BCS Bowl worthy.
Where did I mention anything at all about BCS worthiness? I don't think we'd have much better than a 50/50 chance against SMU in a bowl game. We aren't that good this year if you want my honest opinion.
Not only is that not true, but you live in Ft. Worth. I do pity you and those that hear your voice throughout the day.
I choose to live in FW as opposed to Dallas. To each his own...and I will never sink to personal attacks on a football message board.
Correction. Your pompous arrogance on an SMU board is a personal attack on me.

Myrdel, I never thought of you as one of the people on this board that resorts to name calling.[/quote]
I apologize if you think a pip is name calling. It was meant to be merely a cute little name for a misguided frog.

Oklahoma - check
Iowa State - check
Baylor - check
Texas Tech - check
Baylor [2007] - awaiting
Texas [2007] - awaiting
Yeah, I'd say we are.
If we are going to go back to past years and count future years, I guess we are BCS bowl worthy also.

So out of the likely bowl options, which of these would you prefer?
Ft. Worth Bowl vs. SMU/Rice/Tulsa
San Diego Bowl vs. At large team (probably 6-6 Arizona or similar, but you might get stuck with a 7-5 team out of the MAC or Sun Belt -- way better than SMU

)
New Mexico Bowl vs. San Jose St (probably also 7-5 -- definitely a packed house for this game)

They said the same about Oklahoma . . .
And yes, go back one year [2005]. Tell me what win makes the Pony's "BCS worthy."
We beat who we are given.

Point taken...but you did say you pity those that hear my voice throughout the day. Didn't think that was necessary. And how many times can I say that I don't think our football team is any better than yours this year??? I don't see any arrogance there...I just want the best for my school, as do you. You never answered my question about whether you'd be somewhat disappointed if SMU were 10-2 and unable to go to a true bowl game (on the road) to face a BCS team.
I've offered congrats after every big SMU win this season and, despite your best efforts to make me hate SMU, I will continue to support both schools!

Besides, we all remember what happened the last time TCU was "too good" to get stuck in the lousy Ft. Worth Bowl.

Why do you get to arbitrarily pick what years are used. Players graduate every year and every year the team changes. I am going back to the early 80's for my teams. Gosh, look at that, we are good and TCU is not. We are worthy and they are not. Oh and look, it is 2010. We are good and TCU is still crying for more. There you go.

Give me the FW Bowl against SMU/Rice/Tulsa. I just wish we had other options with BCS opponents...same thing I wish SMU had.

I would take NO over FW any day. No gumbo in FW.

If it were up to me . . . I'd have the team stay home and refuse to play in a bowl.
I would do this until we have a revised system.
Even if we were invited to a BCS bowl for going 12-0.
I'd do this to stick up for the little guys: for teams like SMU, TCU, Utah, Tulsa, UTEP, Navy, Fresno State, Colorado State, Northern Illinois, Nevada, San Diego State, Houston, North Texas, Hawaii, Wyoming, Brigham Young University, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah State, New Mexico State, Louisana Tech, San Jose State, Toledo, Arkansas State, Troy, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana at Lafayette, Florida International, Arkansas State, and all other non-BCS schools.

Could that have been because our players and coaches were so pissed off that they failed to even want to win this game?
Nooooo.
