thanks! i talked to dillard this week, and he was actually extremely supportive of PB staying the coach of SMU(not just because he torched us), but because he recognized how the players rallied around him and how he layed it all on the line... and as for him saying stuff to the media that might be a little to emotional, i kind of like, the guy has more passion to win then anybody i've ever metd1owls4life wrote:Well, that is good to hear. Because reading this made me wonder why he was still your coach. Somebody just needs to teach him to keep his emotions out of the media because that just makes you guys look bad. A definite twinge of sore loser from those quotes.
Once again, you guys played one hell of a game against us and I wish you guys well for the future.

d1owl--i think the bennett comment about number 81 was a compliment to your receiver being the best player on the field and practically unstoppable last week.
and rice has had special admits for football players during the years smu had eliminated them. rice is a great academic school. rice has also had a much more realistic policy for athletes than smu has had while the academics have tried to kill smu competitiveness, in recent times. and i think rice is right to do exactly that--otherwise, as we've proven, no school can compete by tying its own hands.
on balance though, these and the comment about the tight end qb and rice all america receivers does sound a bit whiny, especially given the timing of them.
from here, i'll congratulate the owls on a good win and great season. lets all look forward to more of these meaningful late season games with each other.
damn, then we will only be 11-1 next year and be relegated to some crappy bowl like the Orange Bowl and play some crappy team like Ohio State or ND or USC....hey, just as likely as your prediction J.T
yes i know my prediction was slightly bold but if Calvin Johnson can be held to ZERO catches, so can Dillard.
