I am bumping this thread to remind everyone of the recruiting despair that was prevalent a mere two months or so ago. Oh, and how smart I am.

I'm certain you must have prognosticated Graham bolting for Tulsa right? If he stays for his second season their class doesn't fall apart before their eyes so don't pat yourself on the back too hard Nostradamus.

You misunderstand. I'm not talking about Rice. I'm talking about us. Everyone and his dog was saying that we'd have a very poor showing in recruiting this year. Read the entire thread.

I thought he was just proud that he had predicted signing day was in February.

With my cognitive abilities, you take what you can get.

On paper, at least, I'm very pleased with this year's class, thanks in large part to the late push at the end.
Can not wait to see them suit up!

You don't know what you're talking about. [deleted] was our biggest loss, and I gathered he liked Applewhite more than Frodd. No matter, he was gone once he got offered by Arkansas, where his brother plays. Frodd lost Ganaway before he left, and who knows whether he would've kept Kelton or Nwachukwu. The two that followed him to Tulsa are fine prospects but weren't exactly the stars of our class.
We hung onto Emmert, Jones, Parish, Thompson, and Williams, and added Leary, Lucio, Ozougwu, and Shuck. A few of our linemen are sleepers, but Frodd was barely addressing that need after signing none last year. We're still evaluating punters, which is not ideal but is okay since so few sign on signing day.
IMO Bailiff closed better than Frodd would've.
One thing that may interest y'all: Bailiff is going to recruit Houston and Central Texas more. I'm sure he'll still go to DFW, but he won't fixate on it.
