"superstars?" i agree they out recruit us and have better depth, but "superstars" is a bit much... that means texas would lose about 22 superstars every year

**Edit** didn't realize you were talking about injuries... and i agree that every year they have some of their key players go down and somebody always steps up. if KK had been hurt his senior season we probably would have just forfeited the rest of our games

Three keys are 1) a healthy Martin; 2) a healthy Willis; and 3) improvement on the O-line. On defense, we must improve our pass defense. We looked like swiss cheese last year. If those things happen, we should have a winning season and may pull off an upset along the way.

you cant base your success on one or two players being healthy! If you do, you will lose as there are no for sures in football.
Apparently you didn't see Texas win the national championship....

hahahahahah we ain't Texas!!!!
i didnt say that we were... i was just defeating your theory on you can't win with one player... but i guess your theory is that Texas can win with one player, but smu can't... and my main rebuttal would be that Rice, ECU, Houston, ASU, NTSU, Sam Houston, Etc. aren't USC, Ohio State, OU, A&M, TT, etc.

This is not related but didn't deserve its own thread.
But looking back, SMU is .500 in league play since joining CUSA.
And no, .500 is not where we want to be, but if you would have asked me I would have thought we were worse than that. And yes, I know CUSA is a weak division and we should blah blah blah.......

Hopefully we can get over the .500 hump this season.

I am confident that the O will be good this year. I am very uncomfortable with the D. For that reason I would be surprised to see SMU make a bowl game.

Those are a bit off. They have Oregon almost certainly beating Houston but they say our game vs. Tech could go etiher way. Something tells me they have those mixed up.

Playing Oregon in Eugene is NOT easy. Autzen is the loudest stadium in the Pac-10. Also, Oregon almost always starts their season out strong in out-of-conf, but falters mid-way through. It's pretty typical for them. I don't think we'll beat Tech, but they also don't have the Tech/UTEP game as a predicted loss for UTEP.

Oh, I agree that playing at Autzen isn't easy, but to me, Houston is a lot closer to Oregon in talent and coaching than we even dream to be with Texas Tech.
