Is this really SMU's fault?

He said that his major issue was with SMU calling his son's death an "isolated incident" back on Dec. 19. He knew then from reading his son's text messages about the drug culture surrounding his son. Now with two more students dead from substance abuse he felt the need to come forward and challenge the University to protect it's students better - even from themselves.
I don't think that is deflecting responsibility, its trying to get something good to come of all this.
