Actually, the group was called Chicago Transit Authority when that hit the airwaves in 1969. The album was also called Chicago Transit Authority. Their next album - Chicago II (2) - also saw the group's third name change to Chicago. They were originally called The Big Thing. The group formed at DePaul University.
