You are right. Played QB at West Texas. Coached at A&M. QB coach in the NFL. At a BCS program program with a disenchanted fan base in Louisville.

I think he would be a great choice. Recruits Dallas like a madman and was headcoach at Tulsa in a situation extremely similar to that of SMU.

Can't see how this would create a splash. Since it's common knowledge he's out, how could his name coming out possibly screw the pooch.

I wouldn't be terribly upset with Kragthorpe, he did a pretty good job at Tulsa, he won at least one CUSA championship there.
