dont know how you came to that conclusion...and ive never said i fully support Krag...i think that he'll be a good hire but not the WOW people were saying the hire would be...

all i know is he turned around TU and whats not to think that he wont turn around SMU...

I don't necessarily think Krag is the best option and really wish we could find someone out there that is. But an upandcomer is not going to coach SMU, we sadly are a graveyard for coaching careers at the moment and no young guy is goign to take the chance.

So we are left with falling stars to choose from. But I would rather risk the winner at our level then someone with a nasty past. Think of the negative publicity when Price went to UTEP and his transgressions were nothing compared to Barnett's.

We are running out of teams to be worse than already...can we really fall much further, or than getting the DP or sanctions again?

MAYBE CAPS WILL HELP YOU!!!!!! SMU IS A COACHING GRAVEYARD AT THE MOMENT! PICK UP A MAGAZINE, TURN ON THE TV, ASK A SOUL WHO HAS FOLLOWED FOOTBALL AND THEY WILL ALL SAY THE SAME THING.

THE FACT THAT GARY BARNETT IS INTERESTED HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH SMU AND MORE TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT NO ONE WILL RETURN HIS CALLS BUT US! HE VERY NEARLY GOT COLORADO'S FOOTBALL TEAM SHUT DOWN...DO YOU REALLY THINK IF HE PULLED EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF THE CRAP HE DID THERE, WE WILL HAVE A TEAM?????????????

whatever dude. It's not Barnett's fault that some womens power activist (who sucked at football) decided to go out for the team.

That's so awful that it's funny. I guess that makes me a bad person.

no its not his fault she wanted to play D1 ball but it is his fault for the events that happend after all that...

i dont have a problem with him...he has been my first choice since day 1 but when it was mentioned that any coach with a past would not be hired, i accepted that and gave up on him. and i think they may be best for the program to find a clean coach with no ncaa problems...

no need to dig our 8 foot grave any deeper

I'm willing to bet you are a huge dork and get zero P. I have a feeling we will get Krag and several 0-13 seasons to go with it. Then you will be happy as well as the only one in Ford stadium.

Why would we play 13? Does 0-12 get us to the CUSA title game?

the only reason i somewhat like Krag as a hire is because HE IS A PROVEN WINNER IN CUSA

Sounds like a give up to me & Orsini promised us more than that. He said he was going to get the best available coach in the country. Anyone who thinks that describes Kragthorpe is wrong. Todd Graham is the reason Krag got the athletes he got at Tulsa.

If this is the WOW hire this program may never recover.

What's the saying "nice guys finish last". On the field Barnett did wonders for two top programs.

SMU ISN'T A COACHING GRAVEYARD, THE COACHES WE'VE HIRED AFTER THE DEATH PENALTY WERE DEAD MEN WALKING WHEN THEY TOOK OVER. WE HAVEN'T HIRED A LEGITIMATE COACH SINCE THE DP AND THAT'S WHY IT'S SOOOOO IMPORTANT TO GET THIS HIRE CORRECT.

Ahh yes it would be nice if I was referring to ignoring the raping of the player as his only transgression. Considering our history surrounding the improper recruiting of players...care to fill in the rest?

Like I said, Krag might not be the best choice but I would take him over Barnett just to get away from the media circus. Nothing like a program given the DP for being out of control handing the reigns to a coach disgraced for running a program out of control. Sounds like a winner!

and lets be honest.. this would not be the biggest mistake in SMU history.. seriously I don't have time to count the number of events that are far worse than this

Was it ever proven that he had any wrongdoing? That program was in trouble when he got there.
