Remind me to buy a can of 10-3 Alabama Stench of Death at Target tomorrow if it helps.

Exactly. Anyone who thinks he was unsuccessful at Alabama should think again. He was not unsuccessful - he just left in a real [deleted] bag sort of style.

Wonder if Coach Fran could bring along some of his 2008 committed A$M recruits? Probably a lot better than what we have committed. And he surely has scouted lots of Texas high school players already as opposed to the out-of-state coaches. I thinks he is a solid choice, if he will come.

Only if SMU begins offering "Basket Weaving 101" and "How to Gut a Deer 101". ;)

This is why the new college of education is crucial to the athletic department.

as stated in another thread......if it's Fran....shouldn't we know this week?

since the season is over what would be the point of waiting if it is
Fran or Terry Bowden since they are both now free agents?

Also remember that Alabama really screwed Fran over the severity of previous NCAA violations that really would have hurt his program had he stayed. He also had a ac ontractual out to A&M and he used it. I have no issues with what he did at 'Bama.

well that was a pretty emotional ending at A&M. I agree if its Bowden it should be announced immediately. I might want to wait a couple of days on Franchione. It would seem insincere I would think to the average fan if he were to announce how excited he was to have the SMU job. If there is no done deal, I say Franchione would put SMU on slow play as the [deleted] has hit the fan in Coaching changes today.

Anything that comes out of Franchione's mouth sounds insincere. "He is who we thought he is."

Some of you better make sure who we got before you start shooting down good candidates. The timeline on Orsini's got a WOW Coach locked down is running low.

That dull thud out of college station is the hiring of Mike Sherman...wonder if he remembers what recruiting is all about? I'll give him four years before the Aggies self-destruct again.

Wow or not, I don't think Fran is who we need. That is, of course, my opinion and you are entitled to your own. But I will find it very hard to support him if he lands at SMU.

Timeline's not low if Orsini's locked down guy is a currently sitting head coach.

If Fran could not get things turned around with all the resources afforded him at A&M ( Huge budget, football friendly degrees, sold out stadium, facilities second to none), how is he going to turn the program around at SMU where he has none of the above. If he can't recruit at A&M, how is he going to recruit at SMU. He has not turned any program around. He was the biggest Aggie joke of all time when he was hired at A&M.

of a BCS school? Geez. Maybe a fired BCS Coach. At this mysterious Mustang Club meeting can one of you definitely confirm he said HEAD COACH of a BCS school or did he say Coach which includes assistants?

And Fran recruited just fine at A&M. Almost all his losses were to teams that appeared in the Top 10 plus Miami on the Road. I'm tired of arguing with some of you-let's go hire a Tom Rossley!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll bet you $100 right now that if he lands at SMU and the Mustangs begin WINNING that you'll forget you ever said that.
