i thought this was a string about the pending Big 12 (9 - whatever) TCU beat down. Can you really see them hanging with UT, OU, OSU or even Baylor or TT these days? It is fixin to be a long season in frogtown.

I say yes, but we'll see. I'm a firm believer in parity within college football.

What amuses me is how, had we been selected to join the Big 12, we would be talking about how quickly we would be able to compete for the championship.

As far as recruiting talent is concerned, TCU is about 4th in the conference. They are behind Texas, Oklahoma & Oklahoma State. So the talent they have makes them middle of the road big 12. If the coaches can get the players to over-achieve like they have in the past, they have a shot.

I think TCU will do fine in the Big XII-II-II+I. More regional schedule to be even more attractive to Texas recruits. Winning and going bowling and new and improved facilities will also attract talent that wants to play closer to home. Give TCU time to adjust to the new conference and get thier recruiting in line with the Big XII-II-II+I.

I think TCU will quickly become the 3rd best program in that league!

Actually, I think they're entering at a point where they'll be as good as they will ever be in the Big 12. The Big 12 will be fairly weak. They could actually finish in the top 3 or 4. They'll sink to Baylor lows PDQ. The city of Forth Worth won’t be as excited over a 5-win team; and their alumni can’t support the team. On the bright side, you have 20k UT fans to fill your stadium.
Don't you wish, Cox (or Cox spelled another way!)

They're behind Tech, too. Plus, after going to and winning the Rose Bowl, they are only marginally ahead of Baylor, K-State, and Missouri/WVa. TCU and SMU fans can dream, but two or three years down the road they'll be trying to figure out how to get six wins.
You are either crazy or misinformed if you think Tech is recruiting better than TCU.
