5-7.

We have a pretty good returning offense but that defense is just truly pathetic. It will take time for our guys to adjust to JJ's system and there will be growing pains. If we go 5-7 next season I think there is reason for real excitement in 2009 and the years to come. We just have too many liabilities on defense to win more than 6 games IMO.

Our schedule is:

vs. Texas State
@ Texas Tech
vs. TCU
@ Navy

@Rice
@UTEP
@Tulane
@UCF
vs. USM
vs. Memphis
vs. UH
vs. Tulsa

Now that's not in order obviously, but that's what it is.

I'd say 7 and qualify for a bowl game

I think we will win anywhere between 5-7 games and be in the bowl hunt. The problem this year was that we couldn't close out games because the defense was completely gassed at the end of games.

Our offense was pretty good and consistently put up a high number of points (tho delivering in the red zone was an issue at times). This will improve with the run and shoot.

The key will be on the defensive side. Depending on how much this unit improves, that will determine how many of the close games we can turn around. This past season was heart break loss after heartbreak loss. There were not many games where we weren't in it at the end, we just couldn't finish any of them off. A small improvement in the D could have easily swung a 4-5 games our way. Hopefully, JJ can improve the D enough to where that happens next season.

So I would say 5 wins, a couple of others are possible but until we see how the D shakes out it will be hard to tell. Can't wait till the Spring Game

There might very well be 150 points scored at the Tech game.

Tech will probably score about 140 of them.

3 or 4 wins. I'm not going to build myself up with expectations only to be deflated AGAIN. It will take JJ time to recruit a defense and get the offense working together.

I'd say anywhere between 11 to 12 wins. And if it's at Mobil Gas Station I won't be there. Mobile, and I might.

The Mobil Gas Station Bowl would be a step up from The Safeway Bowl against UNT, wouldn't it? :?

Where would the galleryfurniture.com bowl rank amongst those?

My guess: 4 or 5 wins. If we don't get a DC and some JUCO D players, LBs and few DLs soon, I will go with 3 wins. No expectations either way.

There is no longer a GalleryFurniture.com Bowl. It's now the Texas Bowl.
