This is the blurb on the Frog Board-seems like he may have a source but I haven't seen it confirmed yet. They've been bitchin' about Thompson not getting an offer from TCU for months-he reportedly went to their camps but I believe they are one of the few that didn't offer. This is the good side of the usual "TCU didn't offer" scenario because planty of good programs did. Maybe he hit on Patterson's wife at Dinner.

Changed commitment from Vandy to SMU last night. Taylor & his Father wanted him to go to a private school. He should be their most highly recruited football recruit.....that they will get this year.

As I stated before, he wanted to go to TCU. We have no interest.

Strange...blurb since their reasoning about TT wanting to go to a private school makes no sense since Vandy is private.

Checked through the vandy boards and doesn't show up but I sure hope it happened because he would be a solid commit

Hopefully this will happen. That would give SMU it's first 3 star recruit. I imagine he would play DE.

there is a blurb concerning Thompson in the Rivals Vandy(only) section. If you do a search for "Thompson" several comments in this last few days are retrieved under a post titled "Want a Reality check". Sounds like a possible decommit to little pitiful SMU. We need a Vandy fan with their Rivals subscription to confirm. I'll see if the guys at MM.com can check

Maybe they prefer a private university closer to home.

Well since the very moment that UCLA took Craft from us he went from 2 stars to five, I am sure that if we get this guys they will take him from 3 stars down to 2. :lol:

I just pulled Craft up on Rivals and they have him rated 3 stars 5.6. I guess it is Scott that moved him up. I dropped Scout a couple of years ago because they never seemed to cover Football as well as Rivals and their ratings seemed a little off.

Not sure Clem01's reliability, but the mod from VandySports has said the "Want a reality check" thread is regarding Vandy basketball. He further states that the only TT threads on his board ask whether TT actually came to SMU for the visit and if there are any updates available?

their comment probably encompasses their entire coaching search, not the reason why they're looking somewhere besides Vandy

Taylor Thompson, three-star tight end from Prosper, Texas, gave his commitment to Vanderbilt during the summer. Thompson could not make it to Nashville to attend any games, but will return to Nashville in January. He talks about his senior season and Vanderbilt coaches who have visited.
