But Da-yum, is anybody else starting to get just a little impressed with the size and apparent athleticism of this class?!?!?
I think Bennett's '03 class was the highest rated post-DP with Justin Boren, Avery Cleveland, Richuel Massey, Desmond Jones, Chris Phillips, Cory Muse, Zach Hall, Ricky Joe Meeks, Ervin McGee and Joe Sturdivant all being rated 3-stars by Rivals (that's 10 3-stars total).
We're not even out of the summer, and we already have half as many 3-star athletes as the vaunted '03 class, and none of these guys have benefitted from playing their senior years yet.
Even more impressive is how many from that '03 class we successfully ran off
Kris Lott from Plano... I am guessing this is Thomas Lott III's little brother. If this kid is half as good as Thomas he'll be a steal!
.................Correct and his Dad also was an All American QB at OU in the 1980's.

Not sure if it's how many we ran off so much as how many were complete busts.

Wish we could get a do-over with Richuel. He seems like he might fit as a back in JJ's scheme.
Haha I remember I had a history class with Richuel and Cedric Dorsey and one day they came to class and Richuel sat on my right, Dorsey on my left. It was such a cramped and uncomfortable room. Richuel started talking to me before class and I was like "hey yeah cool dude this is awkward I don't know you." By the end of class I could also hear Dorsey snoring. They seemed to have little interest in our history lecture. Can't blame them.

This story loses a little of it's steam coming from Kent Dorfman.

I was a freshman that year. I remember seeing Richuel around campus and he was a beast -- one of the most ripped athletes I ever saw on the Hilltop, and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he bench-pressed something like 450 lbs.? NFL-type athleticism as a freshman.
I lived down the hall from Sturdivant and Boren. Really Sturdivant was the only recruit out of that whole list that whose on the field accomplishments were commensurate with the expectations coming in -- he was a real player and a great guy too.
I remember hoping Ricky Joe might bring some of that Dandy Don magic out of Mt. Vernon. He was a multi-sport athlete and highly touted QB prospect -- so much for State 100 Rankings, sometimes you can just never tell.
