DMN changes with SMU and college coverage

How appropriate that we are having this discussion when Belo just announced a 14% cut in its work force. It had a second quarter loss of 3.2 mill and its stock fell 7%.

Belo is not failing because of its DMN SMU coverage but it isn't doing much of anything right to produce these numbers.

Maybe a couple of more UT and Big XII special features will turn things around for them.

Don't forget to include a half-page photo of Mack-Daddy flashing "hook'em" or his signature sideline clapping. Might include some insightful Cowboy news from Jean-Jack, like how we're not 'posed to say "Pacman" anymore or a story about Jessica's dad. That's the kind of hard news that sells papers, boys.

Let me tell you that Bobbi Roquemore is TERRIBLE. She's lazy and doesn't understand sports, in my opinion. My background on this is that I was an assistant SID at Marquette for eight years before leaving for a job that really pays and has weekends off! Anyway, she covered preps for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and covered Marquette at times to fill in. Every time I dealt with her, she seemed to just not get it. Having followed the DMN's coverage of SMU for the better part of two decades (SMU class of 1995), I can safely say that she might be the worst ever.

are you sure about that "worst ever" assessment? Sounds to me like she'll fit right in to the Belo machine.

How smart is it for SMU fans to already
be trashing this lady before she even starts?

We all know Kate read PonyFans and Bobbi probably will too.

Why bite the hand that feeds?

Lets see how she does before rushing to judgement.

Maybe with some excitement generated from June Jones,
Bobbi will help get us some better coverage.
