I waited tables at the Colorado Springs Bennigans for a year after graduating from SMU. Stupid philosophy degrees.

Actually, I read every word of assigned readings. But let's just say employers weren't knocking down my door to get my understanding of Plato.
In all seriousness, I am very glad I studied Philosophy and English. It hurt for a few years, career wise, but I'm doing all right now.

Did they wear plenty of flair?
I live right next to that place. It's called the Alligator Grill, but don't tell my friends and I that. We call it Chotchkies. Seeing as we only sit at the bar there, I don't know what the wait staff says, but the bar staff hates it when we call it that. They also hate it when we bring up Shenanigan's (the restaurant referenced in Super Troopers).
The Alligator Grill isn't all that cool by any means, but it's close and the happy hour drink prices are good, plus (at happy hour) they have $0.10 shrimp, $0.25 oysters, and $0.35 wings. Can't say we go there that often, but I went there a week ago with a buddy to play trivia, throw back some cold ones, and down a metric ton of shrimp.
Not a recommended ThadFilms Austin location, but if your a fan of
Office Space, stop in at least once. And no, they don't wear flair.

Self grading myself and giving me an F but if you had studied the teachings of Dana Plato you would be in huge demand

Wasn't there a sorority room at a gentleman's club out in Arlington? I think they had a library, dungeon and other rooms. JT will know the place I am talking about.

always wanted to open my own restaurant. I went to work for Bennigans in the mid to late 80's as a manager then a general manager. Working at all hours of the day sometimes getting home at 6 am in the morning after going to work at 4 pm the previous afternoon, thank god they cured me of that idea.

Long hours did not bother me, the oddity in which they occured is what was the killer. Wrecks your inner clock and messes up your sleep. I am glad I got out. I am happy in the Oil and Gas business.

I will always have fond memories of Steak & Ale. I got engaged 26 years ago at the Addison location on Beltline. She said yes and I am still married to a wonderful Mustang.
