I waited tables at the Colorado Springs Bennigans for a year after graduating from SMU. Stupid philosophy degrees.
That's not a good philosophy, did you sleep in class?ponyboy wrote:Stupid philosophy degrees.

I live right next to that place. It's called the Alligator Grill, but don't tell my friends and I that. We call it Chotchkies. Seeing as we only sit at the bar there, I don't know what the wait staff says, but the bar staff hates it when we call it that. They also hate it when we bring up Shenanigan's (the restaurant referenced in Super Troopers).jtstang wrote:smupony94 wrote:Did they wear plenty of flair?ThadFilms wrote:Steak & Ale ain't what it used to be..... I remember it being awesome as a kid (granted I liked Luby's and McDonald's as a kid), but I mean, I actually remember it being good. The Steak & Ale on 635 around/between Skillman and Abrams was where my folks told my older brother and sister that they were gonna' have a little brother.
Last time I was at a Steak and Ale I was meeting up with a fellow PF'er at the closest restaurant to his office. Haven't been to a Shenanigans, err, Bennigans since senior year in high school. Maybe that was a TGI Fridays. Funny enough, Longhornfan68's then girlfriend had yet to meet me, so she wanted to buy me dinner.... can't turn down a free dinner, huh? (Yes, despite the "68" for those who haven't met him, he's my age, we went to high school together.)
So those are my best tales of those establishments.... any of you got some other stories? Oh, my roommate sophomore year -- when we lived in the Peach Palace by the law school -- was a Bennigan's waiter, I never visited him at work. Not once.
Self grading myself and giving me an F but if you had studied the teachings of Dana Plato you would be in huge demandponyboy wrote:Actually, I read every word of assigned readings. But let's just say employers weren't knocking down my door to get my understanding of Plato.
In all seriousness, I am very glad I studied Philosophy and English. It hurt for a few years, career wise, but I'm doing all right now.
yeah well different strokes for different folks I guesssmupony94 wrote:Self grading myself and giving me an F but if you had studied the teachings of Dana Plato you would be in huge demandponyboy wrote:Actually, I read every word of assigned readings. The sorority girls no longer work anywhere.mrydel wrote:Do not know how it has been in the past several years, but back in my time, many of the SMU sorority girls worked at S&A and wore little skimpy outfits that accented their "assets". Wasn't there a sorority room at a gentleman's club out in Arlington? I think they had a library, dungeon and other rooms. JT will know the place I am talking about.jtstang wrote:Not even on their backs anymore?FWMustangGirl wrote:The sorority girls no longer work anywhere.mrydel wrote:Do not know how it has been in the past several years, but back in my time, many of the SMU sorority girls worked at S&A and wore little skimpy outfits that accented their "assets". Long hours did not bother me, the oddity in which they occured is what was the killer. Wrecks your inner clock and messes up your sleep. I am glad I got out. I am happy in the Oil and Gas business.White Helmet wrote:Wow 4-6, a 14 hour day...toughen up people do it all the time
