Funny. I went to a movie at North Park last night, and around 9pm saw a large young man and immediately thought I hope this guy is looking at SMU.

As he got closer, he was wearing a Houtson Nutt Ole Miss T-Shirt, and he looked like the person in the picture posted earlier.
Were you seeing "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man" or "Hellboy"?

I wasn't there. I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD.

Stallion wrote:What quality? He just a big fat kid right now. Otherwise, believe me someone would have taken a chance on him. Sounds like the "recruiting universe" is NOT recruiting him. Probably waiting until he loses about half a hundred. If he hasn't been offered by August he's pretty far down the lists of schools "recruiting" him. His times and jumps would have to be among the lower 99 percentile too. Big questionmark whether he would ever see the field. Its up to him to get serious about his conditioning before most D!A Coaches would offer.

I knew this post was forthcoming - the kid definitely looked soft but he didn't look very fat, not nearly as overweight as you'd think weighing that much. he's just got a huge frame and really tall. that being said, stallion's right saying if he was a legit prospect right now, he'd already have offers. he'll have a nice career if he's got drive or athleticism...

btw, it would be a nice touch for stallion not to call out 17/18 year old kids on a message board. i'd be ok with you calling him fat to his face. of course, that's not going to happen since you don't value coaching & won't ever be at a practice (disclaimer - yes I know you value coaching even if you think Tech runs the run and shoot)

Well I invite you to go check out his running times and jumping ability in comparison to the entire class of offensive lineman in the country. He's glacierly slow and unathletic. He might be a prospect-who knows until he loses some weight. Right now he is not a quality prospect as was claimed

I must admit I have to agree with Stallion on this one. His stats appear weak to poor, then again lose 50 lbs and a little practicce with a track coach and who knows. Recruiting can be a bit of a crapshoot at times.

Weak to poor...how about atrocious. The dude had the slowest shuttle the 2nd slowest 3 cone drill, the lowest vertical and 2nd lowest broad jump of any OT tested at any scout combines. That is not weak or poor that is just sad, a 13.5" vertical is embarrassing, even for some one that big.

a) he showed up at practice, who says we're recruiting him - i'm guessing we'd look at him like a preferred walk-on and b) i'm not saying he's good or bad, just quit being an [deleted] to kids.

Try 16. So yeah, I think it's a little early to toss him out.

I think I could out do this guy.

That's the beautiful thing about redshirting a kid.
Bring him in, get him on a serious workout routine & you might have something special in a couple of years. If he doesn't cut it, we all know what will happen.

You can't teach size & this kid obviously has tremendous size. I would have no problem seeing us taking a flyer on someone like this.

Especially if he's that young. Most seniors-to-be are 17 and some of them are already 18. I imagine it's going to take awhile to grow into that frame.

How dare you challenge the self appointed "most accurate poster on this board." You will never come across anyone who values their opinion higher than Stallion. Is he correct in a lot of the things he says? Absolutely. Has he been flat on his [deleted] wrong MANY MANY MANY times as well? Of course, but we won't be hearing about any of that. Its much more fun to go on the internet and pretend to know everything. Just remember fellow posters how many times Stallion called you "cheerleaders" or "rah rah coach em ups" every time someone brought up June Jones' name in the coaching search. Most accurate poster my perfect white [deleted].
Back off Warchild seriously.

I almost hope Stallion is right. If this kid ends up being an All-American, I might have to change the quote in my signature.
