It makes no sense to start a true freshman in my opinion. It makes even less sense to burn two redshirts if your intention is to let your third string QB "redeem himself" in a game or two.

The redshirts could always be taken in a different year....if the 3rd string does in fact redeem himself and keep the job for more than one season.
