Mustang98, what in the world are you doing worrying about Charlie Berry? Or in another way, what did he ever show while at SMU that would make you miss him being on the depth chart?

Charlie was a solid player on the D-Line for us - and he played way over what you would have thought given his relative small size for a DL.

almost 1/2 the guys on that 2 deep are FR-RS or FR-HS and I count something like 22 changes from the spring 2-deep. Says a lot about the newcomers and how hard some guys worked over the summer.

I really am coming into this season with JTStang's "no expectations" approach. I will be incredibly pleased if this young group turns out to be good enough to win that opener at Rice. Could lead to another very special 1st season with a new program for Coach Jones

I just hope the guys put on a good show for the national TV audience. At the very least, it is exciting to see so many new faces in that 2-deep rather than lining up against Rice with most of the same guys who delivered that 1-11 season last year.

Not that I care, but I noticed that Sam Bennett is no longer on the roster. He was on the spring depth chart as both a short and deep snapper and was in the 2008 media guide. Guess he decided to transfer somewhere or drop football and be a full time SMU student.

Call me crazy MustangIcon, but I just liked the way he played when he was in there.

Has the NCAA gotten back to you whether we can send a limo for Bo Levi's parents for our SMU/Navy watch party at the Ragin Cajun?

Limo has been done before. We are sending a 'copter for them to make for a more grand entrance.

Now that might be against NCAA rules.

In reply to Jason B. The the offers from, the Big 10, Big East, Pac 10, MWC as well as three schools in CUSA were all wrong about Haynes being a D-1 prospect. I guess you must be the expert huh?

All that and he can't crack the top eight at SMU? Huh.

Yes you are right. He wasn't blessed to be under six feet and less than 200 lbs.

In talking with someone close to the team, Haynes came into camp very out of shape after his knee injury. Likely to not even travel with the team this year.

Natural ability alone does not equate to success. You have to work for it too.

Is Phillip Burley going to get a chance to play this year? Wasn't he a "big time" recruit during the previous coaching error.
