Might be why you get the hmmm because they need you to clarify who you're talking about.

Well, if I actually looked more closely at your post, I could respond like this.
The gophers are fairly well supported but have the same problem that SMU does because they are in a big pro sports market.
While they have been decent, they have not been extraordinary. No conference FB titles since 1967 and some really bad seasons mixed in there. no conference BB titles since 1997 (I still count that even though the NCAA doesn't), hockey has been very up and down, baseball is successful but it is what it is.

Ah. I'm just tryin' to keep you on your toes, General.George S. Patton wrote:I don't recognize Miami as the U. Up in MSP, everybody calls Minnesota the U. But then again, I think we've all heard of the country club atmosphere that Bennett fostered in that locker room. Who knows maybe they met Bennett and came away with the same feeling at SMU Football Blog did. That would be considered good parenting, IMO.
Hey, I was interested in going to the University of Minnesota and my dad - an alum of the U -- talked me out of it.

Well, I can tell you that when I think Gopher football, I think Ricky Foggie (sp)? Lou Holtz had 'em going the right direction.George S. Patton wrote:Well, if I actually looked more closely at your post, I could respond like this.

Ricky was a great talent. That's when the Gophers had a great RB in Darrell Thompson.RGV Pony wrote:Well, I can tell you that when I think Gopher football, I think Ricky Foggie (sp)? But Lou's tenure is still a sore subject up there. They're still made at him for leaving to go to Notre Dame. But he had a clause in his contract that allowed him to take that job if it came up and the U's admin signed off on that.
I guess they underestimated how bad Jerry Faust was going to be.
