Not like I have money or need to disappear, but I have been bored and looked at where to stash money and hide.

So if you ever need to find me, you know where I will be

Going to make a RedBlue joke

If I go to the Seychelles I will have to convert my dollars into seashells

Red N. Blue...

You are the same guy who said the smoking ban has hurt Chicago bars...

I am not wearing rose colored glasses, simply stating the facts that you can look up in Princeton Reviews best colleges...

SMU students are more in the Tulane caliber than TCU....

It is actually harder to get into Baylor than TCU....They are not closing any gaps.

I also judge college education on those relationships...Otherwise why would one attend a private university. It is undeniable that it is harder to network at UT than SMU, and since the point of going to College is to get a job, I would think this is pretty important.

I would be curious to see avg. pay for college grads between UT and SMU. I would bet SMU is higher...thus justifying the extra cost to attend. It certainly will be higher than TCU.

SMU in the corporate world is gaining a lot of attention. Alumni are quickly moving up the corporate ladder and hiring new SMU students.

Most SMU students are adding MBAs and Graduate degrees from the top schools in the country...also a telling sign of an excellent university...

The big picture has SMU moving as rapidly as any other school into national relevance academically. I know this because I have seen how far it has advanced in the 7 years since I graduated.

i fail to see what reading multiple stories about failing SUBURBAN bars when the smoking ban initially took effect in the trib and suntimes has anything to do with my credibility.

if you read my last paragraph i pointed out that yes, smu is going places quickly, no, we are not as high up RIGHT NOW as some believe.

Has nothing to do with your credibility, just shows that you like to state your opinion over fact sometimes.

....over fact? the two are distinctly different...im sorry you cant distinguish them from each other.

like i keep reiterating... there is factual evidence(Suntimes/Trib) to back up my claim about "chicago bars"...i have noticed that very few people who do not live in the city or around the country distinguish between schaumberg(for example) and the city as two different cities within chicagoland.

clearly what I said about smu is my opinion, but again, there are facts to back up my claims about UT being a better institution at this point in time. But you have to consider the two measuring sticks you are using, one being post grad income, the other being academic...UT has better academics period and thats what i was speaking to more than what they are doing 15 years down the road.

UT literally has 6 times as many undergrad students as us so i would expect the average income post college to be lower...if you were to compare the individual programs that we are so proud of(cox), MY OPINION would be that UT's grads get higher incomes on average...just for clarities sake i have not researched that last sentence....therefore, it is MY OPINION.

when is the phrasing of this sentence not used to attack the credibility of someone's statement...there could be examples but i am aware of none at this time.

We will agree to disagree....

but...The sun times is a [deleted] paper, and the closing of those bars probably had nothing to do with the general economy, they simply stopped making money when the smoking ban occured...

I live in the suburbs (Hinsdale) and think SMU is the greatest school ever, and I also think that UT sucks...

We also can use the median wage, or we can break this into S.D.s since you are a statistics type of guy...I bet SMU is higher, and for me that is a big part of picking a college...

The acceptance rates according to the U.S. News College Guide:

Tulane 44.4%
SMU 50.1%
TCU 48.9%
Baylor 44.0%

However, I wonder if Baylor's are even accurate since they have been caught manipulating SAT scores and bringing in marginal freshman early in the summer to skew their incoming fall class statistics.
