I'll pass until the week before the season.

Clarke was playing JUCO ball-don't think he got an offers

i can't remember but with what coach phil left on the shelves and the mentality coach phil had left with our players i knew it would be a very long season instituting a whole new offense. i say we win a minimum of 4 games this year......but lets get it all down so we can revisit....no waffle.....no "well if and but"......lets put it down fellows.

2009 SMU Football Predictions:

Insane_Pony_Posse: At least 4 Wins

jtstang: ?

Stallion: ?

General Patton: ?

Conveniently you can't remember but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it was more than one, and probably included a D-1 win or two.

As for this year, I have no expectations. Same as last year. I'll be pleasantly surprised by any win we manage to rack up. I hope we win a bunch.

I think 4 wins is this program's ceiling.

Clarke is at Pensacola JC in Florida. He appeared in 28 of their 30 games, averaged about 11 minutes per game, 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Pensacola went 18-12 last year, but cratered in conference play going 3-10, last place in the Panhandle Conference.

I am inclined to agree on Julius, letting him go and picking up Luttman looks like a trade down, to me.

Ponyfans is 2-0 in correctly questioning Doherty's recruiting of marginal recruits.
But Francis got offered by and signed with Winthrop, a strong bball program. I would say Myles Luttman has/had more people doubting his legitamacy as a D 1 recruit. And aside from his size, I think it is justified. ALthough I do hope he turns out to be a quality player.

What is Clarke up to these days? He is a kid that was rated really highly as a Soph, then less so as a Junior, then almost not at all as a Senior. Did he end up playing ball anywhere?

I'd like to hear from anyone who has seen Luttman play. I assume he is being brought in as a banger, given his size. May not be quick or have offensive skills but can he be a bull on the defensive boards? I wonder if this wasn't part of a plan to "toughen" this team up? Francis certainly wasn't going to bring that.

"Conveniently you can't remember"

You can stick in you [deleted] if you are implying I am lying.

I don't think I made a prediction last season.

However I see you and your fellow attorney once
again dodge the question.

Lets get it down today so we'll all know come Dec who is right.

So jt you are saying 0 wins?

I'm not dodging anything. I always do my predictions in the week before the season in a very long summary. Its stupid to waste time on predictions when we don't even know if guys Shawnbray Mcniel and Marquis Frazier are going to be availiable-a large number of recruits are questionmarks too.

No, I am saying no expectations. I used to predict records for this team years ago, but until it shows me that it knows how to win, I'll simply stick with having no expectations to avoid the inevitable disappointment.

And I'd never call anyone a liar without knowing full well whether they lied, but if you're saying that your last year's prediction was 1-11 with the only win over a d-2 team, then stick it up your @ss because we both know better. And whether you posted a prediction or not, you know had one sunshine, and you know it was soundly defeated by reality.

What a wussie way out.....the ultimate dodge.

Can't even make a prediction on a football season because
"oh the disappointment is just more than I can handle...booo whooo".

And I'd never call anyone a liar without knowing full well whether they lied

Just to clarify I didn't say you called me a liar counselor
I said if you implied I was lying.

I thought we'd beat NTSU and who knows about the rest. First year late hire, new offense.....

And whether you posted a prediction or not, you know had

No I don't. What happened last year was about what
I expected...could of won none, could of won a few. This year
after seeing more and what a great staff we have....I say we win at
least 4.

ps: surprise surprise neither would make a prediction
Stallion pretends he wants to wait...

like a his season opening prediction somehow must preclude a
prediction now in June....

beach beach beach....but never stick a
neck out.....but i knew that already!

i do know I wouldn't wanna be in a Stryker combat vehicle
in Iraq with either one of them!

Has Jones even filled out the staff?

Jaws, to be honest it is time to start having expectations because all of the shackles from the academics to the commitment to a coach and staff are out the window. We don't have any more excuses as to why we are not winning or why we can't win.

Orsini elevated the expectations because of the above. It's time to start seeing something.

You are a real pain in the [deleted]. I do a Preview every year. Predicted 3-9 last year, while almost 50% of ponyfans predicted a winning record

After all is said and done the three most vagries in life are:

a. Shooting craps
b. Recruiting players for a sports team
c. Preseason sports predictions.

So you really had no expectations last year. Why does that sound familiar...?
