The Clinton Library is really ugly...but a nice asset for LR...I highly recommend the Capital Hotel if you are planning a visit...

Not photoshopped; that's a rendering from the architect's website. Here's another photo:MrMustang1965 wrote:That's terrible Photoshop work. I visited the Clinton Library last July. The area around it looks NOTHING like that photo. Grade: FCalallenStang wrote:Anything will be better than the Clinton Library's "bridge to nowhere"

Good advice, I'll keep that in mind. I haven't been to the Clinton Library but I do plan to visit sometime.NickSMU17 wrote:The Clinton Library is really ugly...but a nice asset for LR...I highly recommend the Capital Hotel if you are planning a visit...

Apparently it does.jtstang wrote:I hope that is not the final building. That god-awful thing does not belong on our campus.

Just read in the Arkansas Dem-Gaz that the dispute has been settled, and Mr. Vodika, bless his heart, is delighted. At least it is finally over.

DMN says it is contingent on a release from one of the people Vodicka gave a "fractional" interest to. The holdout has 1/100 condo interest and could force this thing to trial in February. The first thing I thought was whether Vodicka was pulling this guy's strings....

Saw Vodicka interviewed at 6, on I think channel 8 and he said "now that I have set my kids up for life it was time to end this". Right there is what is wrong with our legal system.

I don't understand. SMU did not have to pay him, they could have gone to trial. They still might.Buckethead wrote:Saw Vodicka interviewed at 6, on I think channel 8 and he said "now that I have set my kids up for life it was time to end this". Right there is what is wrong with our legal system.

Re: Bush Library
I don't think he got paid, yet. They agreed to pay him as I understood it based upon his being able to grant them clear title, but he somehow ciphoned off 1/100 of an interest to some other bozo who wanted some scratch (and Vodicka did not want to pay him out of his share) and thus could not deliver. The Court I thought voided the whole agreement and a trial was set. Pigs get slaughtered.

Re: Bush Library
No per the article today they have reached a new settlement agreement, 80+ pages, but the whole thing is still contingent on getting the other 1/100 owner's cooperation.

Re: Bush Library
I believe you jtstang but will not read an 80 page report. The quote up here had Vodika saying he had taken care of his children and grandchildren for life.

Re: Bush Library
mrydel, I meant the agreement was 80 pages, not the article. Hell the whole paper isn't 80 pages. I got all of my info from the articel, and you can bet nobody will get to read the agreement except the parties, because SMU will insist on confidentiality.

I knew you meant agreement not article. I meant that from his snide statement it appears that he assumes it to be a done deal.jtstang wrote:mrydel, I meant the agreement was 80 pages, not the article. Hell the whole paper isn't 80 pages. Re: Bush Library
I guess Vodicka was saying, now that he has an agreement which is going to pay him a lot of money, this guy he pawned off a 1/100 interest to, should not be holding him up for more money and that SMU should pay the guy. "What - you mean I have to pay him out of my money?" When thieves fall out.
