Frazier and his team had a lackluster semifinal game last night winning 48-7. Frazier was 12-23 for 207. He passed for 2 TDs and ran for 2 more. He had 3 interceptions although one bounced off the chest of a receiver. The otehr 2 were underthrown. His less than normal performance was attributed to cold weather, although it was not used as an excuse. After coming off a 35-0 comeback last week, I think his team and Frazier himself were a little off their game. Next week they should win the 4-A State Championship.

I have known Kiehl and his family for 4 years and i attend all of Kiehls football games and i will be attending his 2nd state championship game this weekend. Kiehl is one of the best QB's i have ever seen and no doubt will be a Hiesman quality QB, but Arkansas is his home, so hands off pony fans!

Frazier had a very good game in leading his team to it's 3rd State Championship in 4 years. He accounted for 5 TDs in a 56-20 win. He was 18-26 for 228 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for 109 yards and 2 TDs and returned an interception from his safety position for a TD. He won his second straight MVP award.

I think running for 109 yards and 2 TDs hurt his chances with Jones, unless he is willing to be a receiver/slot like 2 of SMUs starters this season. Jones wants good footwork, but not someone who takes off too soon whether under pressure or sees a gap that he feels he can wiggle some yardage for himself. bad omen.

JJ is looking for reasonably tall QBs with athleticism, strong accurate arms and the intelligence needed to learn his system which requires many reads. If this kid has those assets then JJ will be interested. You can coach and teach the rest.

He can be told not to run. He is primarily a passer and typically throws about 5 or 6 TDs a game, and then sits the 2nd half. I bet that Jones would appreciate that whether he ran or not.

Shawn Withy-Allen ran a LOT as a QB for JJ.

Tyler Graunke ran quite a bit as a QB for JJ. JJ even used him in an option offense against USC that moved the ball and ate some clock in the first half.

Colt Brennan ran for 366 yards in 2006 for Hawaii....and still threw for 5549 yards. That number always looks like a misprint when I look at it.

JJ likes mobile QBs, and the key is that they learn when to take off and when to buy some time for a receiver to get open. QBs seem to run less as they learn the offense better--go to their 3rd and 4th reads instead of taking off.

I have been watching a local replay of the state championship game. Frazier has a major league arm. Flip of the wrist for 50 yards. Built like a big time QB. He would be a great get. He will have many offers unless he gets a UA offer and slams the door on everyone else.

Most Arkansas kids want to go to UA. The question is will Arkansas offer. They may just take one QB this year and if so it will probably be Brandon Allen. With Mallett maybe leaving this year, and if not definitely next year, they may take two. But the key may be DT Samuel Harville. We have offered him and supposedly they want to go to school together. I do not think UA will offer Harville. We have not offered Kiehl yet but I think we will.

Edit: Noticed that Arkansas has offered along with 10 or so others schools including Auburn where Gus Malzahn is recruiting him. Malzahn used to be the head coach at Frazier's high school and started the system that has produced some good system QBs. Frazier is much more than a system QB and could make a big splash with us if we could find a way to get him.

Kiehl Frazier and Brandon Allen both have already been offered by Arkansas. Although Arkansas is the only school to offer Allen. Frazier currently holds offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Miami, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Northwestern, Duke, Tulsa, and Western Michigan.

Here are Kiehl Frazier and Sam Harvill's highlight videos from their sophomore season. They just completed their junior season with back 2 back state championships, won the private school national championship, and finished ranked #25 overall in USA Today.

His 5 favorites according to ESPN siting AuburnUndercover.com:

Auburn, Arkansas, Miami, UCLA and Notre Dame.

Also says a 2nd group of 5 is definitely in the running but not listed.
