ummm, far better program historically, w/Rick Barnes ex-recruit coordinator at Texas running the show. They are going to raid texas until it hurts. They are a top 5 mid major

I know Reggie Theus quite well, and think he would recruit very well. He'd also leave us on probation, much like he would have at NMSU had he stayed. I'm a Springman fan as you know, grew up around him, but he has 'help' at Texas as well. These are different playing fields you're talking about.
Different playing fields? Like Isiah Thomas & Florida International?
NMSU isn't on probation. Who knows if he stayed.
Theus & Springmann are just 2 examples of some of the talent thats out there.
Bottom line is if Doh doesn't win than he needs to go.
Having said that, I do think they turn it around this season.

Speculation from a very good source.

I've spent a bunch of time in Bowling Green and to each his own. I've met more then a few people that think Dallas sucks. Bowling Green is a tiny college town where they worship hoops and the amenities are few and far between, but it is pretty and quant. They have good facilities, play solid hoops, and offer a small town college experience. Seriously, let's not play middle-aged white guy,and dissect what this kid may or not want, based on your preference of a city environment over country. Let's not forget the kid is from a tiny island, not Houston

SMU isn't a juco. The schools you mention share nothing in common w/SMU at all. Try getting 4 of the 6 in FIUs class through admissions at SMU, cause it's not happening. Ask June Jones, who saw a decent chunk of his class head to JUCO or prep. Like I said, I know what it took to get Herb Pope to Las Cruces, not to mention Martin Iti. If this gives you some clue, UNLV in all likelihood won't consider Theus when Kruger leaves. They consider him a HUGE risk, and not b/c of wins and losses.

but I don't know if there is any real evidence that SMU lost the non-qualifiers due to SMU's standards. If that were the case they could have gone somewhere else and I hadn't heard that any one else was involved with any of these kids which leads me to believe that they were NCAA non-qualifiers. It is a possible they slipped up on some unique SMU requirement like an extra core course but no real evidence of that-do you have any?

I'm saying that we're not going to waste a ton of time recruiting kids in hoops, that have very little chance of getting through the clearinghouse, much less through smu admissions. Apparently the fball staff will sign kids whether they are close or not. It's just a different philosophy, but hoops is a different industry. basketball is littered w/diploma mills and academy models, so a kid like KC Ross Miller, may qualify, but he's not getting into SMU. Heck, even if Tony Mitchell qualified, he wouldn't get into SMU. It's still case by case, not just qualify and you're in.

Being an SMU fan I feel like we can never catch a break. I hope one day this era of negativity culminates into an unexpected explosion of exponential positive results. In the mean time...

He is torn b/w WKU and SMU, and should make his decision this week.

SMU did a good job on his visit, per Rivals...and as can be deduced by Harry's statement.
