I think you have to go with Padron now. The RS is burned, he's shown he can lead the team and as long as he's playing well and the team is winning...it's his job. When BLM is back to 100% (or very close), I'd get him back in if Padron struggles at some point
If Padron keeps getting better and better and becomes a 4 year starter, so be it. This program finally appears to be moving forward . Is it possible we may actually have some depth at QB?

Fans are always too quick to jump on the band wagon of the reserve QB if he comes into a game and has success. There should not be a QB controversy until next season. Yes, Padron did a very nice job managing the game, making his reads, staying mobile, limiting mistakes and displaying leadership.
The only controversy would be if BM is not replaced immediately.

Pocono. JJ always says the best player will play regardless. SO i guess that means a player can lose his job due to injury.
as soon as BLM is healthy he will be our starter. were going backwards if we leave padron in hes still a freshman and will go through freshman mistakes... if SMU wants to get to a bowl game and WIN play your starting QB for the last 2 seasons. i didnt see Padron play in the tulsa game but from the numbers he played great, i did see him in the UH game and he looks like a great athlete but doesnt have near the arm or accuracy BLM does 2 of his passes should of been picked off but the recievers made great plays. I think they're both great players and both great kids which ever one gets to start rice i wish the best and for a SMU victory!!

BM is a sophomore and makes freshman mistakes. Padron had an outstanding game in the first clear win SMU has had since its 6-6 season. If you did not see the game then you have no business pronouncing judgment. You say SMU should play its starting quarterback to win. I agree, and that starting quarterback is clearly Padron. But then again you did not see the game, so you must know better.
i have a feeling alot of the people stating which QB should be starting didnt see the tulsa game... i did see him play against UH and unless he changed in a week hes not a better QB then BLM.

Only Americans are so foolish as to admit they are ignorant and yet pronounce judgment. Your eyes are closed and you do not see.
After going through the history of your posts I see why you say this. You have consistently praised BM in the way that only someone with an agenda would. What is saddest of all is that not only are some people so blind as to not see a true quality quarterback in Padron, but that BM's clan feels the need to defend BM , instead of him making a case for himself on the field.
Jones has a lot invested in the next four games. A bowl berth and possible bowl win ups his stock quite a bit. I have faith Jones will pick the QB that he feels is most capable of winning at least 3 of the next 4 games.
Jones has other issues to worry with this week. An O line that is minus one starter and has another with an ankle injury and his starting RB out for the week from practice. And those are the injuries we know about. The QB has to perform and the best performer in JJ’s assessment will get the start. And whoever that QB is has to play very well to make up for injuries on the line and in the back field.
And the receivers have got to catch the ball this week.

I watched the game and you are wrong....please don't defend it anymore...
Padron may be a freshman but his completion percentage is higher. He hits his receivers in stride and he utilizes more recievers than BLM has. No interceptions and the ability to get out of the pocket and avoid a sack earn Padron a start. If he has any problems go back to experience. Padron looked like the future should on Saturday. Advantage Padron.

How can you make comments on this when U didn't even watch the GAME?
Some of us actually watched both games and there was clear improvement from game 1 in Houston, to Game 2 in Tulsa. Padron had a week to prepare as a starter and it showed.
Padron as of right now is a better QB than BLM and you'd have to be a Mitchell family member(or someone who didn't watch the game) to think otherwise.
