Student attendance will be better this week. With family weekend.

Should be some good packages available for the families coming in to campus.

Agreed that it will take about 2-3 years of consistent winning before the crowds, including students, is solid.

Many aren't good enough. Can't imagine even ONE being too good. At age 20? Give me a break.

How strict is searching fan back packs? Since 9/11 many stadiums have made searching fan carry ons serious and it has stopped bring in food and drink.

When I was a student, I brought a back pack full of 12 beers with ice into the stadium and my friends brought in the leftovers from our tailgait to munch on during the football game.

After 9/11 I brought in a whole bottle of 151 rum in plastic bags and we just bought cokes at the concession. We still got plastered.

Where there is a will, there is a way. 8)

There are many tricks to getting in booze, especially if you are associated with the band.
Best not to reveal them, in case anyone still uses them (I'm assuming they do)

Painting a bottle of bourbon yellow and writing "trumpet" on it isn't exactly a secret technique.

This was before 9/11. My friend's girl friend even smuggled her pet chijuajua, named "Rainbow" into the Aloha Stadium.

This had to be a first. 8)

The guy in front of me was drinking Miller Lite out of the can. Somehow he got the booze in.

The best one I saw was during pony express at Texas Stadium, SMU v. North Texas. 2 guys brought their buddy in a wheel chair and a case of bud underneath...

It's not hard to get anything into the stadium, and they don't search/wand you when you come in. Flasks, beer cans, food...as long as it's in your pockets and not sticking out, you shouldn't get bothered.
As for student attendance, it's been better this year than it has been. Great? No, but not horrible either.

It was a highlight of the Phil Bennet era!!! One of the funniest things post death penalty that has happened to SMU football.
