The apparent wish of some to go to a lesser bowl for no apparent reason, to play a lesser team, and get less money and prestige out of the deal strikes me as the kind of losing mentality the Geldings were supposed to get rid of...

Winn the Marshall game, Then focus on the next game. Tulane st home. Then worry about the rest. Still have 120 minutes of smashmouth football in front of us before we have to worry about a bowl game. Then we have another 60 after that hopefully, before anymore decisions.

The boys finished it off tonight, but they still have a lot of ball in front of them before decisions are made.

Keep it up, boys! You're doing everything we had hoped you would and more!

One more win before we are assured the Hawaii Bowl and 2 or 3 more wins before we are assured the Liberty Bowl. One game at a time.

June wants Hawaii because we can win that bowl. We would get alot of publicity and what treat could be better for the team that finally got us back than HAWAII? I want to be at a bowl as much as anyone. But maybe Hawaii is our best option. BTW we are SMU. A Million is pocket change.

How about this- we fire JJ and bring back Bennett so we don't have to worry about what bowl we go to. Such anger, I suggest you go back to your boycott, or at least boycott listening or reading JJ interviews, it will be good for your blood pressure.

Actually, I heard JJ's post game interview and thought it a weird thing to say.

JJ probably figures this season could be his only chance of going to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl. After this year, he probably figures we will win the CUSA title and become a permanent fixture hosting the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl...at least until we qualify for a BCS game.

Perhaps JJ knows that there would be a larger crowd rooting for SMU at the Hawaii Bowl than at the Liberty Bowl. Sounds odd to you? Not when the state of Hawaii shows up to root for the ponies vs the traveling pack of 1,000 SMU fans that might make it to Memphis... we will have a tremendous home field advantage in Hawaii - not so in Memphis.

I could care less - just wnat them to win wherever and whenever they play.

What makes you think Hawaii fans are going to cheer for SMU? SMU is the bad guy for "stealing" Jones.

It was. Very weird.
Orsini needs to get out front and clarify things - quickly.
He'd said earlier the only thing that would keep us from going to Hawaii would be winning C-USA.

There would be a great contingent of SMU fans in Memphis. We'd rock Beale Street.

I do think we need to worry about this. If we do not go to Memphis, Bagice will probably boycott the game to which we do go like he did in the past and the school will suffer from his absence just as we did the last time.
