Perhaps they should not have chanted we are Marshall when we had an injured player down.
The drunken Marshall kid behind us was bothering a lot of SMU fans but I thought he was funny. He kept yelling at his own team. Fire the coach. But you know it is what it is.

John Hampton had the line of the year from the radio booth: "The moonshine's wearin' off. They're getting a little testy."

That is fair, you won. Today. Give us some time. We will win and win and win. SMU will eventually leave Conf. USA and we will win. It is not part of SMU's DNA to lose, and lose. Some day, some day, SMU will play Texas. We will win, even if we are 1-9 going into it. We will win.

Once our group of freshman and sophmores grow up and we get a couple more recruiting classes we will be just fine.
Houston Cougar fan here,
June Jones has turned things around pretty quickly, I'm glad we got you guys at home. I'll be sitting in Ford Stadium next year for Case Keenum's senior year. Enjoy your Christmas vacation in Hawaii.
P.S. nice picture just up above there. Nice touch by the Marshall cheerleaders.
With the exception of the idiot behind us with the dubious Sprite, and the guy posting here, Marshall fans were fantastic. One picked up the entire tab for 9 of us at Giovanni's before the game. We tried to reciprocate after thanking him and telling him it wasn't necessary...just buy us a beer would be great. He insisted and offered to buy rounds for us after the game (graciously declined). He is coming to enjoy our Boulevard hospitality next Marshall trip to Dallas.
Thanks for sharing that, 78Pony....the Wal-Mart remaks, ugly chick slams and boat postings are real yawners, disrespectful...we got beat. My contact with Marshall folks over the years has been postive as well..beat Tulane.
I will go back to Huntington for sure. But I will not fly the turbo props. I should have taken the advice of some on this board. They were very scary. Seals popping out in the plane alarms going off, kids screaming.
On the way out one engine completely stalled on the run way and they finally got it started after 15 minuets. Meanwhile I had just been to the cemetery and crash site. Never again.
I have been to games all over the country, and the Marshall fans were the best ever. Even on the day before the game, strangers would come up and welcome us. It was a great trip, the downtown area was geared towards visitors. Lots of stuff going on in the downtown area where we stayed, including a concert by Rascal Flatts. Great trip, and lots of "We are Marshall" site seeing.

While you were sitting on the runway watching them try to start the engine for 15 minutes, I bet a big gulp with brown sprite was sounding pretty good.
