Friends,
I hope you are doing well. Wanted to give you an update on our SMU sponsored military ticket donation program...
In less than a week, 805 tickets have been purchased for the Hickam Air Force Airmen and their families stationed in Honolulu, Hawai'i! This is a good start, but work remains.
As mentioned, our goal is sell 2,000 tickets by this Friday, December 18.
Again, tickets are just $40 each, so please call Quinn Branson in our Ticket Office today. Quinn can be reached at 214-768-3523 or via email at
[email protected].
I would also ask that you forward this email (and the original email below) to other SMU alumni and friends. We will need everyone's support if we are to meet our goal.
In addition to the game ticket, SMU will provide a special tee shirt just for our friends at Hickam. We have asked them to design the back of the shirt. Pretty cool... the design they submitted included the words...
SMU Mustangs and Team Hickam... Partners in Paradise
I can't wait to see all of those shirts on national television (ESPN)!
SMU support of our troops (and their families) as our guests at the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl makes me very proud. It sure seems that whatever the task, the SMU family always answers the call. This is what makes the Hilltop a special place.
Thanks again for consideration and being part of this meaningful effort. I believe. June

I've been sending this to people who aren't necessarily smu "fans," but who know that I am. They've all been real excited to support this. It's easy to ask for a donation when it's such a no-brainer like this.

spam your non-SMU friends & family. I was surprised at the response I received from friends outside the bubble.
Even a cross-town toad friend bought one under the condition of anonymity. he probably only did it to boost their strength of schedule, but heck, its for the troops.

Anyone know what the t-shirts look like? Are they the same t-shirts that are being sold at Student Union in the Galleria or a different design?
