I have no sympathy for Leach. He's been a Class A [deleted] for some time now. He runs up scores. He had that fat little girlfriends rant. He played other coaching vacancies into a big check from TT. And what he forgot was that with that big check comes incentive to cut the size of that check if things turn south. Things turned south this year and like the vain DB that he is, he took the son of a very well known medial personality and treated him in what most would call an abusive fashion. He could have just dealt with it like JJ did with his players. He could have called Adam James into his office with another coach present and said, "things aren't working out here, do you want to transfer in January, or do you want me to not renew your scholarship for next year. I don't want you on my team starting today." But he didn't do that. Instead, he took a player who had a concussion, and put him in a closet just to belittle him and make him quit. You can't fix stupid my grandpappy used to say.

I'm only a HS coach but this makes me sick!!! The argument that he belittled a player or singled him out because of injury is crap. Believe me, I hate Tech and Leach for that matter as much as anyone, but kids and parents in today's society are out of control. So what the kid had to sit in a closet, it was probably good for him but oh no, God forbid somebody do one of our little sweet lovelies wrong. Grow up!

I'm on a soapbox because I see this constant babying of kids on a daily basis on my level. Today the view is always the kid is right and the adult is wrong. Crap, I can't tell you what was said to me and physically done to me while I was a football player at SMU and you know what my parents said when I told them (if I told them)...."did you learn your lesson and are you going to do it again?" Sure, what Leach did begs some ridicule and maybe a warning but not this. I'm disgusted with the James family and am ashamed that they are connected to SMU.

I believe we have not heard the whole story. I am very curious to how this thing will play out. It will not be pretty. This was handled so poorly by both sides it should be a case study in how not to handle a public relations situation. Leach did bring in a lot of money to the football program. I did not care the way he ran up scores against everyone, but I do have friends whose sons are on that team and it is unfortunate they are having to go through this. But, what a bunch of buffoons that reside on the south plains!

I know I'll get dog piled here but I think Craig James is a DB. And anyone who has played organized sports has played with a guy who is "reportedly" like his son. Lazy, disrespectful, entitled and a cancer. From the emails released by CBSSportsline http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270202/19238949, it sounds like Leach was THE ONLY guy who wanted Adam James there. And now AJ got him fired.

Pretty screwed up if you ask me.

For my two cents, the kid aside, if a player has a concussion don't do anything. Don't talk like Hines Ward about playing thru it and Leach 'shaming' a player about the injury. In the old days, yes we would play thru it, however you just don't mess around with head injuries. As a fan of John Mackey, it was sickening to see him on 60 Minutes left in dementia. As a high school coach, if a player says he has a head injury, I sit him out and let him rest, no questions. If Leach didn't like the kid, handle it at a different time - get rid of him, whatever, however by punishing the kid (no other way to spin it), when he had a diagnosed head injury, he opened himself up to what has happened. How things were done in the past, do not mean we can do them now...gezz, didn't he learn something from Kansas?

Just heard on the Ticket that the doctor who diagnosed James' concussion has come out and said that Leach did nothing wrong in his handling of the concussion.

After reading the TTU message boards, I just can't understand why people think that Red Raider fans are a bunch of illiterate, uneducated rednecks. It's apparent they're semi-literate, uneducated rednecks based upon their posts.

My favorites so far:

1. IT's all CJ's fault, not Leach's in any way, shape or form.
2. If they all sign an online petition, they can have the university president removed from office AND get LEach re-hired.
3. CJ single-handedly lead to the DP at SMU.
4. That THIS will cause people to think they are a redneck school.

IT's also hard to find a post that doesn't have a four-letter word in it. Or 2 letters and a few *'s.

Just sayin'.
